The New York Times bestselling author of Troublemaker and Heartbreaker delivers a heart-pounding and romantic thriller about a woman who must travel back in time to stop a ruthless killer—but can she also protect her heart from the irresistible, dark lover she finds there?
Is it possible to unravel a convoluted mystery from the past…by living it?
A scholar specializing in ancient manuscripts, Grace St. John never imagined that a cache of old documents she discovered was the missing link to a lost Celtic treasure. But as soon as she deciphers the legend of the Knights of the Templar—long fabled to hold the key to unlimited power—Grace becomes the target of a ruthless killer bent on abusing the coveted force.
Determined to stop him, Grace needs the help of a warrior bound by duty to uphold the Templar’s secret for all eternity. But to find him, she must go back in time to fourteenth-century Scotland…and to Black Niall, a fierce man of dark fury and raw, unbridled desire. “A romantic time-travel thriller with a fascinating premise” (Publishers Weekly), Son of the Morning is perfect for fans of Pamela Clare and Karen Robards.

"I never know what I'm going to get from Linda Howard, a predictable story teller she is not. Most of the time that works out very well for me. Thankfully, Son Of The Morning was one of those times. I didn't expect the story to play out the way it did and I did't expect Grace and Niall to meet when they did. Those two things kept me riveted to the story. Then there's the time travel element. A very good friend of mine once said that the key to good Scifi is believability. The same holds true for time travel. The author either has to make it fun (even silly), so the how and why doesn't matter, or they have to put real thought behind it so the reader says, " Hmmm, that could actually happen." I was totally on board the fantasy train in this book. Hey, it could happen! My only regret, I wish I could spend more time with Grace and Niall."

“Linda Howard offers a romantic time-travel thriller with a fascinating premise…gripping passages and steamy sex.”
— Publishers Weekly" I have to admit my guilty pleasure is romance novels. This is one of a favorite books by one of my favorite authors. Hot hot hot. "
— Jessica, 2/13/2014" I didn't think I would enjoy time travel romance stories but I fell in love with this one. The suspense is what holds the images so vivid for me. The action, suspense and romance is almost too much at times. Grace is one strong woman to see what she saw and jump into the situation with Niall at her back. "
— Christine, 2/8/2014" {PNR,TT bk - heroine from present goes to the past} One of my very favorite books; although I wish the H/h were actually together more in the story. "
— Lea-Ellen, 2/5/2014" While I liked this book I think there are other authors that have done the whole time traveling highlander thing better. What bothered me most about this book was that it took itself too seriously, the beginning part going over and over the Templers. I did really like Grace and how she was able to change so much and learn to survive while on the run. "
— Darcy, 2/5/2014" I was surprised that this turned out as well as it did. After reading the Outlander series it's hard for me to read anything about Highlanders without comparing the two. Of course this is a much less complex story but she did a good job. I really liked the characters and even though it seemed like you didn't really get to know Niall you were still taken with him. I'm not sure how she accomplished that but she did a great job with it. "
— Tasha, 2/5/2014" Just couldn't get into it. There were sine really touching moments but I guess I'm just spoiled by Moning's Highlander series or something. I'll read it again in a year. "
— Alexis-Morgan, 1/19/2014" --A longer review will come later. However, suffice it to say this is one of my favorite time travel books; and it's HOT to boot! "
— LJ, 1/17/2014" Slow beginning, but so worth reading to the end. Very good! "
— Lorelle, 1/16/2014" Should have been a good book because I love the Templars but it really didn't have much to do with them. It didn't hold my attention in the first half and I thought the second half was going to pick up, but then that ended up to be a big letdown too! "
— Dawn, 1/11/2014" If you like a story that is more sex than plot, than this is the book for you. "
— Christine, 12/22/2013" Definitely not one of my favorites. It took an extremely long time to finish the book because I just wasn't interested in it. I love Linda Howard but I didn't care for this one. "
— Vanessa, 12/17/2013" ket thuc nhanh qua, nen tao cam giac truyen hoi dai phan dau, tinh yeu chua thuyet phuc lam nhung tam ly nhan vat bien doi rat tot va rat logic "
— Gen, 12/10/2013" Interesting book. The beginning was a bit slow, but I liked how it ended. "
— Kari, 9/25/2013" This is an interesting romantic suspense by Linda Howard with a time travel element. "
— Judy, 9/3/2013" Best book ever, loved it!!!! "
— Rosemary, 7/1/2013" I enjoyed this book. The two main characters don't actually meet until much later on in the novel but it makes for an interesting time travel novel. "
— Stephanie, 3/4/2013" Starts really well. Both hero and heroine are well-drawn but they are apart for too much of the story. "
— Cherry, 7/26/2012" Grace and Niall are living in different times. She uncovers the galic code and is able to time travel back to 1322. Long story but finally got interesting at the end "
— Beth, 7/16/2012" One of my favorites - so much romance and passion - completely takes you away. "
— Jennifer, 12/16/2011" different but I did like it. "
— Pamela(AllHoney), 10/25/2011" I read this years ago, and just re-read it for our bookclub. If you like history, mystery, time travel and a great love story, then I highly recommend this book! "
— Mary, 6/15/2011" empat bintang buat adegan dan dialog "party pack" :))

terimakasih buat tukang kueh yang udah minjemin bukuna ;)) "
— HappyHippo, 5/8/2011" This book has some seriously laugh out loud scenes! Such a fun book. "
— KK, 5/2/2011" LH lives in Alabama, and did her small town library research in our local library and in the library of the hs where I work. Gotta love it just for that! "
— BamaGal, 4/15/2011" This was one of the best books I have read this year so far...I love the way the book goes, the guy already wants her at the beginning and doesnt try to hide it and when she asks if he loves her he doesnt walk away or act stupid...good book "
— Dana, 3/25/2011" I loved listening to this book. Hokey and fun fluff. "
— Stefanie, 3/22/2011" The beginning of this book seemed like a great comedy of errors. I haven't laughed out loud and enjoyed the humor in a story so much for a long time! Daisy and Jake seemed like such an unlikely pair but they were sweet together. "
— MRS, 3/13/2011" I just finished it and I loved it! It was fast paced but funny and romantic with a lot of drama going on. I loved the whole thing with the party-pack. This is not a book to pass up. "
— Andrea, 2/11/2011" 17th: OPEN SEASON - Linda Howard
Trivia Winner - Connie S.

~COVE OPINION: B, Great story "
— The, 2/11/2011" Very Fast Read! Loved the characters, and the story was believeable. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating, is I felt like it could have been more in depth! Great read overall, would recommend it! Of course, I'm bias when it comes to Linda Howard, I love ALL her books! "
— Debbie, 2/7/2011" Probably my favorite Linda Howard! "
— Nancy, 1/12/2011" I liked the characters, but the suspense and danger was not there. "
— Kindle-aholic, 12/20/2010" This is either the 4th or 5th time I've read the book and I still love it. This book and Mr. Perfect are the two books I remember first when I think of my favorite Linda Howard reads. "
