Publisher Description

She was unquestionably a lady. Still, that had never stopped him before. He could see that she was not, he thought, that young. Even better. Another twinge of pain from behind his eyes lent a harshness to his voice. Who the devil are you? In no way discomposed, she answered, My name is Caroline Twinning. And if you really are the Duke of Twyford, then I'm very much afraid I'm your ward....

Max Rotherbridge couldn't believe it. Along with the dukedom of Twyford, he - London's most notorious rogue - had inherited wardship of four devilishly attractive sisters! Including the irresistible Caroline Twinning. The eldest Twinning was everything he had ever wanted in a woman, but even Max couldn't seduce his own ward...or could he? After all, he did have a substantial reputation to protect. And what better challenge than the one woman capable of stealing his heart?

"This book was very good, but b/c it's a short story it leaves you wanting more from the book. Max and Caroline's story was magical. Who doesn't love a handsome untamed rogue who gets stuck with a beautiful lady who is his ward? It screams of delicious scandal that everyone loves so so much"

" Not the best one for this author. I liked the premises of 4 wards but ... Too many stories to follow I could not really bound with one sister in particular. Max as a hero is quite insufferable. "

" I love rake's thus, this storyline caught my interest. It was a fun read. Good characterization. Good chemistry between all characters. Would dearly love to find out what book Max appeared in 1st. Sigh. "

" An enjoyable read of the republication of one of Laurens' early Regencies under the Harlequin imprint. When I was done, I was wishing Laurens had gone back and reworked this, like Mary Balogh did with the republication of some of her early Regency work. Each of the sisters could have used her own Regency in Laurens' current style, rather than the old-school traditional Regenecy series book. However, it was a relief to not have to skip past Laurens' overblown intimate scenes. "

" This was not the best Stephanie Laurens that I have read, it was passable. 4 sisters and 4 rakes who were all roped into marriage against their wills. The storyline is similar to a host of other historical romances but this was lacking something in each romance for me. "

" Regency romance just isn't for me. At least this wasn't as bad as some of the others I've read. This one wasn't too terribly offensive and for the most part strayed from the "women are silly and need a man to rescue them" theme I've found in a lot of these types of books. "
