" Normally, I'd love a good Stephanie Laurens' book... But this is a failure. It's sooooooo obvious it is her first historical romance and that she doesn't even like the type (How could a lady who respects herself NOT wear gloves at ALL time?). The characters "understood" each other a bit too much to my liking. All in all, if the other historical romances books she'd writen are that bad. She should stick to her field: contemporary. "

" This was the first book I've read by Stephanie Laurens. It was a good introduction to the Cynster Series, but I prefer a more layered story, like A Rake's Vow, which weaves a mystery through the romance. "

" While I enjoyed this book, what I can't understand is how a woman of Helena's temper and passion managed to overlook Sebastian's infidelity later in their marriage. I relize that this book does not cover that topic, but to me, to make this story truly good, it would have to address it somehow. "
