"The first one I've read where she's strayed from her tried and true plot formula. Hallelujah! Greatly enjoyed it, although I do wish that the hero wouldn't use sex (and lots of it!) to 'persuade' the heroine to marry him. Still, it's the genre, I suppose."

“Shows, in true Laurens style, how testing the limits of temptation can lead to a sensual, passionate romance. With emotional intensity that grips readers and breathless sexual tension that holds them spellbound, Laurens proves why she’s a fan favorite.”
— RT Book Reviews (4½ stars)“Landor quickly shows why she’s an award-winning narrator. She convincingly portrays terrified 10-year-old girls, ardent lovers, nefarious kidnappers, and disgruntled relatives…[an] impressive performance.”
— AudioFile" Every once in a while you need a no thinking book and this is it. Very smutting (if that is a word)! "
— Sarah, 2/18/2014" i didnt mind it not one of my favourites but did enjoy the story "
— Brenda, 2/12/2014" Seemed to drag on and on. The story seemed out of place for the setting. The secondary characters were less than flat, they were practically linear. "
— Mayakda, 2/9/2014" Normally, I like S. Laurens books but this one was extremely predictable and boring. "
— Linda, 2/3/2014" Once again, I get sucked in by the 'new' shelf at the library. Clearly I should not be around shiny things. This was terrible, but I definitely needed a palate cleanse after Time Traveler's Wife. "
— Sara, 1/27/2014" It was a great Cynster novel..strong hero, family loyalty, good mystery. I love the Cynsters! "
— Lynne, 1/27/2014" You can't go wrong with a bit of romance, kidnapping, and a treasure hunt. Definitely an entertaining read. It kept a steady pace, though toward the end I did feel my patience stretch at how the pace slowed down toward the last few chapters. "
— Leticia, 1/21/2014" Good book when you don't want anything too heavy! "
— Jennifer, 1/19/2014" Two kidnappings too much. The heroine is too stubborn for my taste, not much of a strong character. Lacks all "goodness" qualities. The hero, Jonas, is the epitome of a perfect-EST gentleman ever been written. EVER. "
— Thea, 12/28/2013" Dnf... I found this book to be much too wordy. It seemed that it had a lot of filler. "
— Kas, 11/21/2013" Decent romance (very spicy) with strong characters. This one is set in the small town of Colyton and revolves around the Inn and a treasure hunt. Fun. "
— Carla, 9/9/2013" I think this was hot hot hot and the mystery was good, but.... "
— Marti, 1/23/2013" I usually enjoy the Cynster series books. For some reason, this one felt very bloated and overwritten, with a lot of filler. I found myself skimming rather than reading for pages at a time, because nothing was happening that moved the plot along. "
— Gevera, 10/2/2012" Like many other reviewers of this book I found myself skimming through most of it. Actually, I skipped almost the last 100 pages because the storyline had just become predictable and bland. I think it is time for Stephanie Laurens to put the Cynsters and their storylines to bed ... permanently. "
— Mel, 9/19/2012" A good read, the Cynster novels always are. "
— Petie, 8/9/2012" If it wasn't part of a series, I wouldn't have finished the book. It really dragged. "
— Lisa, 4/12/2012" 4.5 The last of the Cynster Series. This was more exciting with an actual treasure to find!! Of course, like all the other Cynster books....lots of hot scenes to digest as well. "
— Danette, 3/23/2012" I'm glad I'm finishing this. But boy, this could have used a good 100% less boring buildup, which would have been probably 25% less book. "
— Deborah, 2/29/2012" Too much sex and not enough of a storyline or plot. I was hoping that this would be a good treasure hunt type of romance story, but it was just too slow and boring. "
— Kim, 7/18/2011" Loved it! Not so much of the high-society stuff in 1800's London. Good adventure story too. "
— Annette, 7/17/2011" Como siempre Laurens se enrolla ella solita. La historia en si es buena pero cuando la autora empieza a liarse convierte una trama de doscienta páginas en una de quinientas que termina aburriendo y cansando.
Una pena. "
— Dácil, 3/20/2011" This story was readable, but kind of lackluster. The love scenes were nice, but I found myself skipping through them just to finish the story, because there were so many. It got kind of repetitive. Not her best, for sure. "
— Qtpham85, 2/10/2011" i really liked tis book.....the sex scenes were very ditry in places. "
— SATIN, 11/14/2010" I'm glad I'm finishing this. But boy, this could have used a good 100% less boring buildup, which would have been probably 25% less book. "
— Deborah, 5/30/2010" 4.5 The last of the Cynster Series. This was more exciting with an actual treasure to find!! Of course, like all the other Cynster books....lots of hot scenes to digest as well. "
— Danette, 5/10/2010" I love reading about the Cynsters.

I wonder if I have read too many of Laurens' books as I knew the where the treasure was from the beginning. Or maybe it was just that obvious. :) still and enjoyable read. "
— Sharon, 4/23/2010" Some one else said this but it fits perfectly I have hit Cynster saturation. This one was nothing special and I am glad I got it in a swap and didn't pay full price for it. I need to step away from Lauren's for awhile. "
— Jerelyn, 4/10/2010" It was a great Cynster novel..strong hero, family loyalty, good mystery. I love the Cynsters! "
— Lynne, 2/20/2010" how can she can still write good books after tons of it ? anyway, i'm proud that i can still catch up ! =) "
— stella, 2/7/2010" Normally, I like S. Laurens books but this one was extremely predictable and boring. "
— Linda, 12/15/2009" This is another good Laurens book with hot sex and all. I did enjoy Jonas Talent as the hero. I like how the book related what running an inn of that time would require. I did get tired of "I'm not good enough" and that gets old. "
— Sherry, 12/10/2009" Every once in a while you need a no thinking book and this is it. Very smutting (if that is a word)! "
— Sarah, 11/25/2009" I liked it, even though I could write her sex scenes. "
— Frances, 10/20/2009Stephanie Laurens began writing as an escape from the dry world of professional science, a hobby that quickly became a career. Her New York Times bestselling novels, set in Regency England, have made her one of the romance world’s most popular authors.
