"Overall very intriguing and interesting. Story line exciting and held my attention. Love the independent , strong willed women Stephanie Lauren’s has as main characters of her books. Phoebe did not disappoint. The main male characters are all strong willed which makes for interesting reading. To Distraction , was a true romance novel. I would recommend this audiobook. It will sweep you away on an adventure of romance , intimacy, suspense and a happy ending."
— Merry Reader (5 out of 5 stars)
“Aptly titled, Laurens's latest generates enough heat to make you forget about sticky summertime weather.”
— Publishers Weekly“Sensual, compelling and highly entertaining”
— Library Journal“The wits are rapier sharp, and surprises await the reader. Deverell is an Alpha among Alpha-heroes; Phoebe is the heroine we all wish we could be. The sparks are immediate and never die as they battle injustice, avoid danger and fall headfirst into love.”
— A Romance Review“To Distraction had me enraptured until the end.”
— Romance Junkies" Really liked this book it was hard to put it down "
— Stephanie, 2/14/2014" The fact this book dragged on and had brought in almost entirily new plot after three hundred pages took away from a story that otherwise was intriguing! However if you Read the Bastion Club books you have to read this one, even if it is so not connect to the club! "
— Ashley, 2/11/2014" Bastion Club #5 Deverell & Phoebe Malleson "
— Ellen, 2/6/2014" Searching for a suitable wife, ex-spy Viscount Deverell Paignton follows his aunt's advice and pursues Phoebe Malleson, a young woman with no interest in marriage. The weakest in the series, neither character is likable and the plot is boring. Phoebe actions are so out of character for someone with her history that I constantly found myself shaking my head (she was almost sexually assaulted years ago, never let anyone near her, yet within a short time she is trying to seduce Deverell..yeah, right). "
— Christine, 1/24/2014" After reading two of these Bastion Club books, anyone could write one. Laurens gives new meaning to formulated writing. Lord Handsome meets Lady Beautiful, takes her on a step-by-step seduction, with a tiny little plot, not enough to hold the story together. Lady is kidnapped, Lord rescues her, and they live happily ever after as partners reaching for the sky and falling to earth as one. Ugh!! "
— Frances, 1/20/2014" Another great book in the Bastion Club series!! What I like most about romance books is the "chase." Lauren's heroes are so alpha and won't leave you wanting in that area. Plots are well written and you don't ever want to put the book down until the last page!! Steamy romantic read. "
— Danette, 1/16/2014" Delicious reading. The Mysterious Dalziel is becoming more mysterious. the Bastion club members are getting more yummy as well "
— Colleen, 1/10/2014" Another lovely Stephanie Laurens, in which the euphemisms & repetitions abound as per the usual... BUT in this one she got a little creative with the role play. I dug it. "
— Kathryn, 12/17/2013" Bagus. Kasus yang ditanganin Deverell dan Phoebe juga seru! "
— Dina, 11/19/2013" Good side plot-- one of the better Bastion novels. "
— Lindsey, 11/6/2013" The characters were flat, the sex scenes were too frequent, and the story went on forever, without nearly enough excitement to warrant 450+ pages. "
