"A fantasy novel about coping with change, duty, vision and blindness, and accepting someone for who they are. The plot is interesting, following three main characters (one of them is a triad); Ephemera is evolviing too. It was great to see the growth in Lee's character and the subtle romance."

" At last a 3rd one! And I feel like there are possibilities for another one in the future. Good story - ending was a little anti-climatic. Enjoyed reading about all the odd folk again. "
— Jill, 2/20/2014" I liked this one but it should have ended two chapters before it did to keep us hanging on for the next one! Good storyline that kind of just ended anti-climatically. If you like Bishops in depth writing you'll like this although at times I got lost in the descriptions. So, I give it a medium rating. "
— Debi, 2/19/2014" Not the best one in the series, but it was nice to go back and visit the characters. "
— Jc, 2/18/2014" Gave this an honest go, but I just can't get interested in this series again. Belladonna was a rough read for me, and I'd forgotten a decent amount of what had gone on in that and Sebastian, but I'm finding I don't really care. I love, love, love her Black Jewels series, and the Tir Alainn series is a solidly fun fantasy romp. I'm not going to spend any more time on Ephemera. "
— Caroline, 2/17/2014" I adore the Dark Jewels books by Bishop, so I really tried to like these Ephemera books. But I couldn't do it. The first one isn't too bad, but the parts I liked about it were not carried through to the second and third books. The Eater of the World is just too nebulous and abstract to be a realistic villain, and I never felt that the danger to the world (or worlds) was clearly defined either. I read all of the first book, most of the second, and skimmed my way through about half of the third book before giving up. I just didn't care. "
— Teena, 2/7/2014" Weakest of the three books although a pleasant enough read. Definitely one only for Anne Bishop fans which is sad as like others have mentioned, the previous in the series were really great. "
— Karalee, 1/31/2014" Just when I think that Anne Bishop's writing can't get any better, she proves me wrong. This book was excellent - I give it 4.5 stars. "
— Cheryl, 1/28/2014" I liked revisiting this world, but the storyline was a little out there for me. "
— Feistygodwin, 12/31/2013" Not as heart stopping as the first two but I still really enjoyed this book, like every other Anne Bishop novel. I hope she writes more books for the Ephemera series! "
— Steph, 12/27/2013" I started reading this series b/c I love the Black Jewels Trilogy by same author. These Ephemera books are just not as interesting. This book in particular was more boring than the previous installment in this series. Yet, for some reason, I can't stop reading them. "
— Heather, 12/18/2013" OMG SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Anne Bishop! I hope we dont have to wait too long for her next book. "
— Tina, 12/14/2013" An excellent end to the Ephemera series. I like how she addressed some of the consequences of things from the first two books. I definitely like how the wild child reacts to the Guides - on both sides of the coin. I would go back and read this again, without complaint. "
— Mandy, 12/10/2013" hoping she does another one in this series! "
— Amber, 8/13/2013" This book was surprisingly enjoyable, given that I didn't really like the first two in the series. The newly introduced characters had flavour and were likeable, and the story captured the imagination. "
— Ashleigh, 2/10/2013" overall the book was great - didn't like how it was the end of a series with such a vague ending, though. DID THEY GET BACK TOGETHER AGAIN OR NOT? "
— Grace, 9/29/2012" Read this one before the others and really gained an appreciation for Anne's writing style. "
— Lorna, 6/24/2012" Oh this was wonderful. So full of people and things and dreams and struggles. Also, I want a Keet. "
