"Sebastian is an incubus who lives in the aptly named Den of Inquity, which is located in the landscapes of Ephemera. I really enjoyed this book about Sebastian and his love interest Linnea. I did find it amusing that there was little sex in a book about an Incubus."
— Grace (4 out of 5 stars)
" I missed some gore and those deep intense scary moments Anne is good at, but I enjoyed this book very much. "
— Wiction, 2/14/2014" It was nice. A good "in-between." "
— Jomayra, 1/22/2014" Could not get into this one. May skip the rest of this series. "
— Amelia, 1/22/2014" Ugh, horrible. Did not even finish it. Boring. Confusing. "
— M, 1/22/2014" This is the first Anne Bishop Anne Bishop book and series (The Landscapes of Ephemera: Belladonna, Bridge of Dreams) that I have read. I liked how good versus evil was not only portrayed in individuals, but actually reflected in the various landscapes. These landscapes were as much a character in the book as the individuals, and the descriptions made it easy to picture the different landscapes, especially the Den of Iniquity and Sanctuary. The characters work well together in the story, though their strengths and weaknesses are somewhat predictable. Even figuring out how the story ends before reaching it, I would recommend the series as an enjoyable read. "
— Sarah, 1/22/2014" Quite liked it! "
— deejah, 1/19/2014" I ended up naming my son after this book :) "
— Cheryl, 11/15/2013" As always, Anne Bishop has created an intricate "world" with entirely believable and sensual characters. I can't wait to read the sequel! "
— Allison, 11/12/2013" I have found all of Anne Bishop's books to be fascinating and rich, and filled with great characters--she has such a fantastic imagination and she has never disappointed me with her storytelling! I highly recommend everything she has written. "
— HRM, 11/8/2013" This book was enchanting. The world the Bishop created in this book sets my mind to dreaming of possibilities. "
— Jessica, 10/23/2013" I love Anne Bishop's work, which is why I hate to admit that I didn't like this book. Honestly, I found it a bit bland and slow. Someday I'll read the sequel, but I'm in no rush to do so. "
— StrangeBedfellows, 9/14/2013" Nifty worldbuilding, such nifty worldbuilding. Too bad about the story. "
— Miss, 7/16/2013" Erotic fantasy at it's finest. "
— Christine, 2/24/2013" I like Anne Bishop's worlds. This one was a little weaker than The Black Jewels or The House of Gaian; nevertheless it was enjoyable. I just appreciated the DETAIL in her previous works. This one definitely could've been fleshed out more. I'll pick up Belladonna and see if it improves. "
— a_tiffyfit, 1/7/2013" Had to read it for school. Hated it. I felt like I was missing something I was supposed to already know and no this wasn's a sequel. "
— Clara, 12/18/2012" I really like it when Bishop writes from the Male character perspective. It's usually a better read for me. "
— Jolene, 12/5/2012" I love this kind of book...I am more into the fantasy world of books than the historical or realistic fiction pieces. I can't wait to read the next book in the Duology...Belladona! "
— Lindsay, 8/1/2012" It was ok. This one is the first of three. Hoping i will like the second one better "
— Paula, 6/27/2012" The book seemed to go on forever, and tended to be a tad bit too dogmatic for my taste. "
— Cecil, 3/24/2012" This was fun, but no where near as good as I expect from Anne Bishop. A lot of the characters felt a bit recycled from her Black Jewels Trilogy, but luckily the world was rich and interesting enough to keep my interest. Not one of her better series, but it was decent. "
— Caroline, 9/21/2011" I ended up naming my son after this book :) "
— Cheryl, 4/22/2011" I really like it when Bishop writes from the Male character perspective. It's usually a better read for me. "
— Jolene, 4/12/2011" Ugh, horrible. Did not even finish it. Boring. Confusing. "
— M, 2/10/2011" This is yet another world of Anne Bishop. I liked it. Sebastian is a great character and Belladonna is very intriguing. "
— Angie, 1/30/2011" Excellent introductory book to what could be a fantastic series. Wonderful characters in an engaging world. "
— Mark, 1/10/2011" Don't let the cover put you off, this is not a Harlequin Romance. But it is a stupid cover. "
— Joe, 11/18/2010" Classic fantasy -- good versus evil, main characters have some secret hidden past that allows them to fight the evil in the world. But it's got good characterization, some interesting variations on the classic plot, and is a little steamy. Good distraction. "
— Beth, 11/8/2010" For being an incubus, Sebastian sure is pathetic. Also, can we please, for once, have more than two types of characters that women can be? I get that these are poorly written fun books, but come ON. "
— Amanda, 10/22/2010" Could not get into this one. May skip the rest of this series. "
— Amelia, 9/24/2010" Words cannot describe how amazing this book was; it had everything - magic, emotion, sexiness, heart... everything. This was my first Anne Bishop book, but definitely not my last :) "
— Ayesha, 8/13/2010" Been meaning to try this author? very predictable story but her imagination and world building are good. The characters seem shallow "
