"This is my favourite book in the series since the original trilogy. It's a series of smaller stories that feature heavily the main characters from the original trilogy. The last story gives the impression that this might be the last Black Jewel's book that Anne Bishop might write which makes me sad. But the stories are beautiful, amazing and exciting. The last story had me crying heavily but I loved it the most for that reason. I love this series so much."

" I loved this series, but I could have gone without reading this book. I don't know why the author felt the need to bring the series to a conclusion like she did instead of letting her readers imagine a happy-ever-after for the characters. "

" A good ending to the series (I presume it's an ending, unless there's the further adventures of Jaenelle Saetien to come?). I initially thought it was a single book, not a series of four short stories, so the ending of the first story and the starting of the second was a bit of a shock. "

" "The High Lord's Daughter" was heartbreaking. But I loved that Bishop didn't take the easy way out and come up with some way for Jaenelle to have the same lifespan as Daemon. The other stories were equally good and definitely filled in gaps from the novels. "
