"This is my favourite book in the series since the original trilogy. It's a series of smaller stories that feature heavily the main characters from the original trilogy. The last story gives the impression that this might be the last Black Jewel's book that Anne Bishop might write which makes me sad. But the stories are beautiful, amazing and exciting. The last story had me crying heavily but I loved it the most for that reason. I love this series so much."

" This book was bittersweet for me. I've grown very attached to the characters over the years. It was a neat ending, if somewhat expected, with most ends tied up. "
— Ria, 2/12/2014" I am so far liking this series. It takes a little bit to get into the books but after the first couple of chapters each book gets better. "
— Dawn, 1/9/2014" Wonderful read. Will leave longer review when I have time. "
— Daffodil, 1/6/2014" This book was sooo good. I read it really fast...and stayed up until 3am to finish it! REALLY GOOD. "
— Meghan, 12/17/2013" This book was a fantastic addition to the series. "
— Gwynne, 12/3/2013" I loved this series, but I could have gone without reading this book. I don't know why the author felt the need to bring the series to a conclusion like she did instead of letting her readers imagine a happy-ever-after for the characters. "
— Kanani, 11/12/2013" I love Anne Bishop's writing and this was enjoyable, yet not her best "
— Greeneyes2see, 6/1/2013" Absolutely wonderful.....Brought tears to my eyes. All hail Anne Bishop "
— Trish, 4/2/2013" I found this book to be a very satisfying ending. It also leaves the door open for Bishop to write more Jewel novels. I hope that she does. "
— Diane, 6/29/2012" It made me cry twice. I can't give it a higher recommendation than that. If you loved the other books and can live with a "happily ever after" that is bittersweet, you will love it. "
— Kara, 4/12/2012" This collection of shorter stories was one of the most moving and impressive instances of character development over a long-ranging series. "
— Kristen, 12/2/2011" I know that a lot of people slammed this book but I thought that her stories worked out nicely. Time moves on and the characters evolve. "
— Amethyst, 8/12/2011" Love short stories and how it tied up the storylines "
— Liz, 6/29/2011" A good ending to the series (I presume it's an ending, unless there's the further adventures of Jaenelle Saetien to come?). I initially thought it was a single book, not a series of four short stories, so the ending of the first story and the starting of the second was a bit of a shock. "
— Seldear, 6/8/2011" I was in tears at the end of this book. Anne Bishop really knows how to draw you into the characters. I have absolutely loved this series and, inevitably, can't wait for the next installment. (I sincerely hope she intends to continue with the series.) "
— Gayle, 6/7/2011" I enjoyed this series of short stories. Each one has something different to offer people who lved the original series. "
— Lorelei, 5/30/2011" Comfort food-type reading. Enjoyed the last story best. I wouldn't mind if it were longer, but I think Anne Bishop needs to let go. Yet if she wrote more, I would read. Damn it. "
— Anastasia, 5/22/2011" "The High Lord's Daughter" was heartbreaking. But I loved that Bishop didn't take the easy way out and come up with some way for Jaenelle to have the same lifespan as Daemon. The other stories were equally good and definitely filled in gaps from the novels. "
— Bodagirl, 5/22/2011" Reading these stories is like visiting with old friends. They range from happy holiday times with natural family fun to sad and mournful, but all of them are beautiful and enjoyable. "Shades of Honor" was my favorite, but that is because Lucivar is my favorite. ;) "
— Dana, 5/18/2011" Yes, I really liked it but I don't feel like I can recommend it to anyone I know because of the R-rated content. "
