They are England’s most eligible bachelors, with the most scandalous reputations. But for the right woman, even an unrepentant rogue may mend his ways …

Lady Grace Mabry’s ample inheritance has made it impossible for her to tell whether a suitor is in love with her—or enamored of her riches. Who better to distinguish beau from blackguard than her notorious childhood friend, the Duke of Lovingdon?

With no interest in marriage, Lovingdon has long lived only for pleasure. He sees little harm in helping Grace find a proper match. He simply has to teach the lovely innocent all the ploys a scoundrel uses to gain a woman’s favor—by demonstrating his wicked ways. But as lessons lead to torrid passion and Grace becomes ensnared in another man’s marriage plot, Lovingdon must wage a desperate gamble: open his heart fully—or risk losing the woman he adores.

Quotes & Awards

  • “Heath moves the Scoundrels of St. James into the next generation with a spin-off series as Frannie Darling’s daughter leads Jack Dodger’s stepson on a merry chase. There’s signature Heath wit, but also poignancy as Heath tackles several serious themes and raises the emotional intensity of a beautiful love story. Perhaps the greatest guilty pleasure is revisiting old friends and making new ones as the story progresses. Heath’s fans will definitely savor this sensual and moving novel.”

About the Author
Author Lorraine Heath

Lorraine Heath wrote her first story at seven, and it involved a fisherman who fell in love with a mermaid. She has since moved on to writing about sexy cowboys and dashing English lords—sometimes, cleverly, within the same book. Publishers Weekly says she is a “master of her craft.” She is, indeed, and along with being a New York Times and USA Today bestseller, she has won the RITA Award and three RT Reviewers’ Choice Awards, as well as the RT Career Achievement Award.

About the Narrators

Helen Lloyd is a British actor and voice artist who recorded her first voice-over at the age of fourteen. Since then, she has spent much of her life interpreting other people’s words and bringing characters to life. A classically trained actor, she has performed with many of Britain’s leading repertory theaters, as well as at the Edinburgh Festival, the Roundhouse, and on the West End.

James Adams is one of the world’s leading authorities on terrorism and intelligence, and for more than twenty-five years he has specialized in national security. He is also the author of fourteen bestselling books on warfare, with a particular emphasis on covert warfare. A former managing editor of the London Sunday Times and CEO of United Press International, he trained as a journalist in England, where he graduated first in the country. Now living in Southern Oregon, he has narrated numerous audiobooks and earned an AudioFile Earphones Award and two coveted Audie Award for best narration.
