" I really didn't like the first one, so I wasn't sure about this one, but it ended up being alright. It had more to it than the first one. Still not as good as other comparable books, and the TV show is still far superior. But it was good enough that at some point I'm sure I'll read the next one. "

" This is finally getting better! The end made me really need to know what happens next. And I think I finally heard the word 'vampire' for the first time! I kind of like how she tip-toed around that, even though it's called Vampire Diaries. "

" I was ready to give this book 3 stars, as it was considerably better than the first, but the ending completely ruined it for me. The thing with the diary; I totally saw that coming, same with the crash. Plus, the "fight scene" was agony to read. Not as bad as the Awakening though; I actually enjoyed some of the parts. I'll read the next book too- maybe it will keep getting better :) "

" This was a very quick read for me. I did enjoy this book more than the first one in the series. However, I think I'm just so spoiled by the show that I can't get into the books as much as I would like to. I'll keep reading them though. "
