"I've been watching the tv show, so I figured I should probably read the source material. I really enjoyed these books. The plot was very slow-moving in the first book, but it definitely picked up in the second. Overall, it was a decent, fun read and I can't wait to finish up the series. "

“Fans of Smith’s Vampire Diaries series will find the same basic formula here: plenty of foreshadowing, lots of action, mild creepiness, and instant infatuation. Characterization is minimal, but those seeking lightweight, mildly scary, somewhat romantic titles will gobble this up and eagerly await the sequel.”
— Booklist" Typical mediocre young adult fluff. I'm intrigued, but the writing itself isn't great. It reads like fanfiction, pandering to what the audience wants or thinks it wants. Take a gamble or two or ninety, L.J. Smith! "
— Roger, 1/28/2014" Goshdarnit WHY??!?!?!?!?!? LJ Smith is so good with that hatred of forbidden love thing. I swear, everything she writes makes me want to cry, I get so attached. "
— Elaine, 1/28/2014" My friend and I watched the TV series for kicks & giggles. I wanted to know what the books were like. Well, now I know and I can't take back the time I used to read the book. My advice: Watch the TV series if you like Teen Drama and leave the books alone in the dark & dusty places they belong. "
— Soo, 1/25/2014" You see, I'm not a fan of LJ Smith or Vampire Diaries, but I was positively surprised by Secret Circle. It's not only because I love stories with witches (I love vampires too), but also because the story is more developed than VD, with characters better made. :D "
— Barbara, 12/26/2013" It's a great book. Good story, interesting characters, ... But I think I would have enjoy it if I was younger, like 12-14 yo. "
— Pénélope., 11/11/2013" These were a reread and I still liked them as much and probably better than the Vampire Diaries books. I did thinkthey beat Black John a little too easily at the end though. "
— Brandy, 11/10/2013" I don't like L.J. Smith's writing style, but the story is nice and it surprised me pleasantly. Almost nothing to do with the series, which makes it interesting, so I look forward to the other books of the series. "
— Mira, 11/10/2013" I loved these books when I was younger, I have read them prob 20 times each. There was not a lot of fantacy books out there when I was a kid and i thought she was a great writer. I had a copy of them that fell apart and I had to but a new copy. "
— Catherine, 6/10/2013" Young Adult but so good. Would have made a better series than Vampire Diaries but whatever. If you like YA you will like this series. "
— Suz, 3/1/2013" Like Sweet Valley High with witches. "
— Meave, 2/5/2013" I was a little disappointed because I really love the tv show "The secret circel". But in case, the vampire diaries book series was also a disappointment. "
— Oline, 1/5/2013" better than i expected i literally couldnt put this series down finished both books in a week loved them "
— Trina, 11/7/2011" The first time I read this book was 2 years ago. Even this was a re-reading, I could hardly put this book down. "
— Primero, 10/30/2011" This book is about a young girl who discovers she is a witch and is not the only witch in the town. I did not like ths book very much. It may be fun for students to read around Halloween but I found it to be not very excting. Not much happens and when it does it predictable. "
— Amy, 10/24/2011" I like how the book was structured and written. The story was a bit on the predictable side. "
— Chantelle, 10/17/2011" I felt that the book was kind of boring at first but after that, as the story progressed, it got more and more interesting. :D "
— Lim, 10/12/2011" I really liked this book - possibly even more so than the Vampire Diaries books (and I love them). I got sucked into Cassie's world and can't wait to find out what happens next. There's a lot of mystery and strange things happening so I'm very excited to find out why. "
— Joanne, 10/9/2011" Actually, 2,5 but not quite 3 stars worthy. "
— Sarna, 10/7/2011" I really enjoyed these books, and think they are better than the TV show. "
— Julia, 10/3/2011" Modern witches!!!

A good story but the part I is too short.. I hope this story focused on the witches part than on the love story of Cassie and Adam.. I don't like their love story. "
