"A good follow-up, but extremely confusing. I also like it because most of the book was from Damon's point of view, which I find much more interesting than Elena's. Damon may be the so-called "evil" brother, but he brings a lot of life into the book and is one of my favorite characters."

— School Library Journal“Fans will enjoy returning to Fell’s Church and the romance of Stefan and Elena.”
— Children’s Literature" Nice opening for The Return serie. LJ Smith really makes me admire her more. Elena has a new appearance as she got a new power called Wings of Redemption "

— AnnaBanana, 11/28/2013" Once again, could not put it down! I absolutely cannot wait for the other volumes in the Return VD series to come out. So much action and excitement. I want more! :) "
— Olesya, 11/23/2013" It drug on and on, almost gave up on it, finally decided to finish it. I won't be reading the last book. I'll stick with the t.v. show. This is one time when the show is better than the book. "
— Sharon, 11/14/2013" es medio fastidiosa, de verdad, no tiene nada que ver con la serie... "
— Betza, 11/6/2013" I think this was the bad in the series if there is a bad one. It was kind of hard to follow with all the language jumping around and it almost had no story, mostly just something to keep the series going! "
— Stephanie, 9/25/2013" I enjoyed this book, I love the "Vampire Diaries" series and I was so excited to read the continuation of the saga however it wasn't as amazing as the previous series. Overall, it was an enjoyable book and I can't wait to read Shadow Souls and Midnight! "
— Grace, 2/26/2013" Boring & badly written. "
— Shauna-lynn, 1/15/2013" good...such a different take on vampire world...but you do need to read the whole series to know whats going on in each book. "
— Tina, 11/9/2011" After reading 6 chapters I just couldn't go on. The first few books in the series were pretty good. I never really liked Elena so I found the new focus on her "purity" rather annoying. This one started out too weird for to want to continue. This marks the end of the series for me. "
— Mirah, 9/24/2011" It was kind of struggle to try to get this one read. Not sure why though since I've read the first four already and they were ok. I got into page 100 and something and then I was urged to stop reading, it just didn't feel worth reading anymore. I might just be too old for this kind of literature :D "
— Hanna, 8/28/2011" Still reading this last one in the vampire diaries series, but enjoying it tremendously! love DAMON and his wicked ways - he seems a bit kinder (if that's possible) in this book. "
— Esna, 5/20/2011" I was so upset with this book I wanted to throw it against the wall! I don't know what she was thinking when she wrote this one, but it seemed poorly put to together to me. The ending was so aweful I don't know if I will read any more of The Vampire Diaries book, "
— Dawn, 5/14/2011" I cried. Literally inside and out. I loved it. Except for the end where they killed Damon and then she was 'stripped' of her wings and powers...and that she ended up with Stefan-typical! Finished it in much less than a day. "
— Kenndelle., 5/13/2011" awesome and captivating so far in, it keeps getting better w/ each chapter. "
— Mickey, 5/11/2011" The story easily continues in this next Vampire Diares book. We all want to know what happens next. On the downside, the storyline has become really complex, so if you're not the brightest crayon in the box, you should save yourself the trouble and just watch the TV series... "
— Caitlin, 5/7/2011" I wouldn't say that this is my favorite book of the series, but was definitely one of the strangest. I am hoping that the next book does not disappoint. "
— Joell, 5/3/2011" Now this book was a bit more interesting then the other two in the return series, it was more entertaining. until the very last 2 pages when it made me think, why can't anyone just stay dead in these books? "
