"I love the series but I just couldn't get into this book. Maybe it's because it was so different from L J Smith's writing style or that I was really upset with the turn of the plot. Of course, I have to keep reading no matter who writes it since I enjoy the Secret Circle series."

" I have just finished reading this book minutes ago. The book was not as I was expecting it to be. I was so excited to read this book and I had been waiting for it for so long. I am so disappointed. This book clearly does not have the same taste as the first two book which were written by L. Smith. The ending was terrible. It felt like the writer just got tired of writing the story and stopped in the middle of the story. Well, Aubrey thought that would make the readers excited for the next book, but she was wrong. I hope Alloy Entertainment & Harper Collins gives the job back to L. Smith to finish the book or find someone better to finish it. I am not saying that Aubrey is not a good writer, but it's obvious she didn't put her heart into this book as L. Smith did. "
— Ghiz, 1/15/2014" This was much better than I expected. Cassie is still as annoying as ever. "
— Tina, 1/15/2014" I liked it, but again the characters are failing me especially the main ones and the edition to Scarlet to the group, come on now, REALLY? Seems like milking to me, not sure if I am going to get the next book or not when it comes out. "
— Lindsay, 1/12/2014" This ghostwriter continuation really follows the TV series and has a completely different tone than the original series by L.J. Smith. Sadly it is not as exciting or consistent as the original. Cassie comes off as whiny and insecure. Adam comes off as secretive and like he now struggles with loyalty and affection; the two things that made him an integral character to the circle and a great guy to begin with. Probably the least changed in the series is Faye, still aggravating and dark, flirting with danger despite being one of the "good guys." Still not sure what I think about Diana and Max despite the hunter/witch pairing already being introduced in the TV series. Suffice it to say the circle can't seem to do anything right and just seems to make one mistake after another, resulting in lots of dark magic and problems they don't have the first clue how to deal with. Despite clearly being out of the depths, they continue to dive in head first without truly understanding what their doing or even really attempting to get reliable help. Small wonder they just manage to make already bad situations worse. "
— Racquel, 1/10/2014" I'm very disappointed in this book. But at least I could finish it. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone that's for sure. "
— Anne, 1/7/2014" One of the most amazing books!!!!!!!!!!! "
— Christine, 12/30/2013" It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. It was easy to tell from the writing style that this was not written by L.J. Smith. "
— Tammy, 12/14/2013" I really liked The Hunt, especially the main storyline about the witch hunters. However, I didn't like the ending of this book, I think it's a bit farfetched. "
— Marcia, 12/13/2013" This book was good, yet it didn't meet my expectations. I thought some of the scenes were tacky. It lacked some adventures that I wanted "
— Luis, 12/8/2013" It was good. I liked it. "
— Jessica, 11/30/2013" Wow. This was really good with an intense ending. "
— Emma, 9/2/2013" Were the first three books this bad? "
— Jennifer, 5/7/2013" I don't know why all the bad reviews on this book. Yes, it was written by a ghost writer, that doesn't make it a bad book. It was left hanging to set up for another book. Again nothing bad. I did feel like there could have been more to the story, which I hope we'll see in the next story. "
— Donna, 5/6/2013" I can't believe L.J. Smith will not be writing this series anymore! The Secret Circle was my favorite series when I first read it back in the 90's. I would have loved to hear more from the characters but I will not support a ghostwriter that has stolen the series from L.J. Smith!! "
— Ashley, 4/12/2013" The continued writing of the series "The Secret Circle" was and is not written by the original writer and the creator of this universe, L.J. Smith. Therefore I choose to rate these books that I have not read because I find the publishers despicable and deceitful. "
— Nina, 4/8/2013" Very very boring and slow paced. Only one interesting thing in the entire book being when a circle member dies. The rest is basically Cassie making every wrong choice. You could probably skip this book and miss nothing. "
— olittlebear, 1/28/2013" I WILL not read these book! How can they just fire someone from writing these books!!!! L.J. Smith makes the series, with out her they are crap. I gave it one start because Alloy you guys suck! "
— Courtney, 1/23/2013" Amazing and fun read and i love the series cant wait for the new book X "
— Leah, 1/10/2013" Maybe a bit better than the previous one but I could punch myself for not giving up as I should know better...I think from now on I just wait L.J.Smith's upcoming novels and start ignoring the ones that a ghostwriter has written... "
— Jennifer, 1/5/2013" Definitely a book for teens. I started with book five. Will probably go back and read the first four. "
