Publisher Description

Soren and his band are sent to the mysterious Northern Kingdoms to gather allies and learn the art of war in preparation for the coming cataclysmic battle against the sinister Pure Ones. Meanwhile, in the Southern Kingdoms, St. Aggie’s has fallen to the Pure Ones, and they are using its resources to plan a final invasion of the Great Ga’Hoole Tree. With the future of all Owldom in the balance, the parliament of Ga’Hoole must decide whether or not to join forces with the brutal Skench and Spoorn and the scattered remnants of St. Aggie’s who remain faithful to them. The coming conflagration will demand wisdom, bravery, and sacrifice from all the owls of the great tree and, from Soren and the band, nothing less than heroism.

"This book, sequel to The Shattering by Kathryn Lasky, is a definite page-turner. After witnissing what the powerful flecks can do to owls, and hereing news that the Pure Ones, a group ow owls who believe that Barn Owls are the best type of owl, have taken over Saint Aggies, where the largest known supply of flecks is stored, the Guardians know that the Pure Ones must be stopped. But how? Otulissa, one of the Guardians, has the solution: invasion. Invasion of Saint Aggies canyons. But can they win? Not without the help of the troops from the Northern Kingdoms. So Soren and the Chaw of Chaws are dispatched to the Northern Kindoms to see if they can raise troops from the Northern Kingdoms to help them. But will they? And even if they can, will they be too late to stop them?"

" Well, this is the first book I have finished since I signed up. I love owls and these books are the reason. I read them in second or third grade, and they were great. After the movie came out I wanted to reread them. They are as good as I remember! They are for a younger age but have lots of information and good vocabulary. Any one can read them! "

" Its a nice series that deals with some serious issues and plot twists. However, I must admit that by book 6 I'm enjoying Colin's company and discussions about the books more than the books themselves. Lasky is eliciting some deep thinking from an almost 8 year old. "
