"This book I'd have to say was very touching, sad, happy, and many other emotions. Foalon, the wolf on the cover has an amazing journey. He gets parted with the clan/group. The special thing about him is that he has a splayed paw with a swirly thingy at the bottom of his paw. At the end he finds his home. ^^)"

Quotes

  • “This is a soulful, searching read consumed with the spiritual journeys of animals and the ethereal connection between slayer and slain. With an invigorating ending that bodes well for the next volume.”

" Guard wolves of the Beyond find the development of a wolf suicide cult and cannibalism during a famine to be shocking, but they are not disturbed by wolf swearing, the drinking of blood, and the amassing of bones to build mounds. Small prey animals are portrayed as nothing more than inferior meat, although their blood serves to revive dying wolves. Despite the mysterious setting, the plot quickly becomes uninteresting and the characters elicit little appeal in this 4th book of the series. "

" I thought this book was really boring. It was alright, but I got really bored. I didn't enjoy the Ga'hoole books very much either. It was sort of interesting what happened in the wolf's life, but overall I didn't like it that much. "

" I think It was really nice. But the style of Kathryn Lasky's writing isn't really what I like. At the end of the chapters, it doesn't make you want to read on. But I really like the creativity of joining the story of the Guardians f Ga'Hoole to this story, "
