"This was one of the books that I picked up in a dusty old book shop (my mom jokingly said it looked like something I would read). Luckily, I agreed. To say I loved this book would be a grand understatement. The action was quick to pick up, and the characters had a great amount of mystery surrounding them. The mystery lasted for a few books. I love Halt. I had to put that in there, somewhere. 5/5 recommend for all ages"

" I liked this book because it keeps you guessing. This series takes place during the medieval time. The main character,Will, is small for his age and has to find what craft he wants to learn. He has one crafts in mind battle school where he can learn to be a warrior. His father died a hero in the kingdom, which inspires him to become a warrior. Will he be accepted? If not which craft will accept him. "

About John Flanagan
John A. Flanagan grew up in Sydney, Australia hoping to be a writer. It wasn’t until he wrote a highly uncomplimentary poem about a senior executive at the agency he worked, however, that his talent was revealed. It turned out one of the company directors agreed with John’s assessment of the executive, and happily agreed to train John in copywriting. After writing advertising copy for the next two decades, John teamed with an old friend to develop a television sitcom, Hey Dad!, which went on to air for eight years. John began writing the Ranger’s Apprentice series as a way to encourage his son, Michael, to enjoy reading. He currently lives in the suburb of Manly, Australia, with his wife.

John Keating is an actor, voice talent, and AudioFile Earphones Award–winning narrator. His numerous acting credits include Roundabout Theatre’s production of Juno and the Paycock and La Mama ETC’s production of Cat and the Moon, as well as various parts with the Irish Repertory Theater and the Irish Arts Center. He can also be seen in the HBO miniseries John Adams, starring Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney.
