" This is my first Linda Howard novel. I really enjoyed the strong female main character, the historical component, and the bizarre time-travel thread. I 'read' it as a book on CD "

" For me, this is a perfect "going back in time" medieval romance. I was on my tippy toes the whole time I was reading it because of all the suspense in the book. Loved it! "

" I was surprised that this turned out as well as it did. After reading the Outlander series it's hard for me to read anything about Highlanders without comparing the two. Of course this is a much less complex story but she did a good job. I really liked the characters and even though it seemed like you didn't really get to know Niall you were still taken with him. I'm not sure how she accomplished that but she did a great job with it. "

" This is one of Linda Howard's best books. There is so much suspense involved. I felt the fear that Grace felt as she fled the police and her enemies. I love the way she changed and then when she traveled through time to meet Nial--wonderful. A great book. "

" I must say the book started off really slow. I fell asleep by the sixth page. It did get better and I liked the ending. I found it was more of a history lesson than a love story. I found myself skipping pages to get to the good parts. Overall, the book was alright, not my fave. "
