Though a small town at heart, Lawrenceton, Georgia, has its dark side - and its crime buffs. One of them is librarian Aurora Roe Teagarden, a member of the Real Murders Club, which meets once a month to analyze famous cases. It's a harmless pastime - until the night she finds a member killed in a manner that eerily resembles the crime the club was about to discuss.

As other brutal copycat killings follow, Roe will have to uncover the person behind the terrifying game, one that casts all the members of Real Murders, herself included, as prime suspects - or potential victims.

" A good mystery, little old fashion. The style of wrtiting reminded me of Agatha Christie's books - especially those of Miss Maple. However, it is light reading compare to Dame Christie as there is no "excitement". Well written book. Looking forward to reading 2nd book - A Bone to Pick. "

" Quick easy to read murder mystery, the sort of book that doesn't require your brain in gear. Enjoyed the premise of the murders, and most of them I was aware of. Did feel this could be longer, the ending was very quick and felt a little flat, however I'll read the next to see what happens next. "

" After reading the Sookie Stackhouse books and eating them up, I bought all of this series...all of them. Ug! I am slowly going through them- haven't picked one up now for at least half a year. This series is so boring. I just don't understand how she can hit home with one series and suck so bad on another. "

" I don't know what it is about Aurora, but I just love this whole series. I like Charlaine's characters because they are almost always strong, solid, people. I enjoy a good leading lady. ;) "
