Mercy Reynolds is a reporter in the San Francisco Bay area, but she's also more—and less—than human. Half woman, half air dragon, she's a "draman"—unable to shift shape but still able to unleash fiery energy. Now something will put her powers to the test.
Mercy's friend Rainey has enlisted her help to solve her sister's murder. Then a horrible accident claims Rainey's life, leaving Mercy only five days to find the killer: If Mercy fails, according to dragon law, Rainey's soul will be doomed to roam the earth for eternity. But how can Mercy help when she herself is a target? With nowhere else to turn, she must join forces with a sexy stranger—the mysterious man they call "Muerte," or death itself, who's as irresistible as he is treacherous. But can even Death keep Mercy alive for long enough to find her answers?

"This was the 2nd book in the series but it was a bit of a stand alone in that you don't have to have knowlege of the first book to understand fully the second book. She is a Water Dragon and being pursued by an old enemy. She is trying to solve the mystery of who killed her friend and has help from a 'sexy' contract killing Water Dragon."

“Readers are taken on a hazardous journey as Mercy must sift through prejudice, bigotry, and murder. Arthur has created another world for readers to get lost in!”
— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)" Enjoyed it. Although this was the first book I had read of the series, it was easy to pick up the general feel for this urban fantasy. The conclusion was satisfying, and I look forward to going back and discovering the beginning. "
— Mark, 2/8/2014" I really enjoyed the 2nd book in Keri Arthur's newest series of Dragon shifters. A murder to solve brings Mercy into danger as well as onto the arms of Death! Great page turner! "
— Lynda, 2/6/2014" Ah, Mercy and Damon. Gotta love Keri. Hmmm...What to say? I WANT ME ONE OF THESE DRAGONS! "
— Zaanodes, 1/31/2014" Still not getting into these books as much as her Riley series. Too much of the same thing and not enough of a plot line. More details needed. almost seemed like there were parts missing. Alas, I'm a fan and will read the series! "
— Debi, 1/25/2014" I enjoyed meeting Trae's little sister, Mercy Reynolds. She's a reporter investigating the disappearance of her best friends sister and when her best friend is murdered, she's immediately on the hunt. It becomes really interesting when she meets Muerte (Death), a dragon assassin. I loved this installment and can't wait for the next. "
— Barbara, 1/19/2014" Nice romance, average plot, nice characters. "
— Vivian, 1/7/2014" This was not quite as enjoyable as the first. Damon's prejudice and Mercy's nagging really grind the nerves. I sort of wish the plot hadn't been quite so ambitious. But it was still a smooth read. "
— C, 12/14/2013" Very Good!!!! not brilliant but very very good "
— Rosa, 11/21/2013" Mercy has only five days to kill the people responsible for killing her friends sister and along the way she meets the sexxie Damon who isn't all that into half breeds but is into Mercy even though he tries to deny it they can't help who their soulmate's are. "
— Shalom, 11/17/2013" I liked it. Not as good as her Riley Jensen series but still held my interest and will need to continue the series to find out what happens next. "
— Gwen, 11/12/2013" Interesting premise, but a bit weak in execution. It finished up far too quickly and I felt that the characters weren't ever challenged enough to develop their full potential. "
— Tara, 9/2/2013" I read the first book of this series so long ago I could not remember what it was about. I really enjoyed this book. I love Keri Arthur as an author. This book would be a great erad by itself or in the series. Can't wait for more from Keri Arthur. "
— Audrey02, 4/20/2013" Not as good as the first one. "
— Tom, 2/5/2012" Second in the Myth and Magic series. This books brings you a little closer into the lives of the Dragons/Dramans.. Great story.. Can't wait to see what comes next! "
— Saisha, 7/9/2011" Read from 6/2 - 6/7. "
— Kristin, 6/28/2011" Story was very busy. Never a pause. Always on your toes to see what was going to happen. Huge page Turner for me. "
— Antionette, 5/5/2011" This isn't a bad series. Of course the best thing about it is the dragons. They always make everything wonderful and Kari Arthur is alway good for a fun quick read. "
— Lynn, 4/29/2011" Softer than Riley Jenson. Good but not great. "
