Publisher Description

Enter the dark, magical world of the House of Night, a world very much like our own, except here vampyres have always existed. One minute, sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird is a normal teenager dealing with everyday high school stress: her cute boyfriend Heath, the school's star quarterback who suddenly seems more interested in partying than playing ball; her nosy frenemy Kayla, who's way too concerned with how things are going with Heath; her uber-tough geometry test tomorrow. The next, she's Marked as a fledgling vampyre, forcing her to leave her ordinary life behind and join the House of Night, a boarding school where she will train to become an adult vampyre. That is, if she makes it through the Change—and not all of those who are Marked do. It sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no average fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx. Zoey discovers she has amazing powers, but along with her powers come bloodlust and an unfortunate ability to Imprint with Heath, who just doesn't know how to take "no" for an answer. To add to her stress, she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers: when she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite group, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny—with a little help from her new vampyre friends. Marked is a fabulous start to a hot young adult series by award-winning author P.C. Cast and her daughter, Kristin Cast

" I love this book series. In the beginning it was kinda boring and quite confusing. But as you keep reading you don't wanna put the book down! It keeps getting better and better. This book and the entire series has so many plot twists. You would've never expected it to happne that way. But I guess that's wht keeps you on the edge of your seat. "

" This book was horrible, I can usually finish a book in a matter of hours but this book, not only took me three days but I didn't even finish it cause it was getting no where. At all "

" Where do I start... Hmmm... I love P.C Cast's 'House Of Night' series. It's superb! I love the original take on the Vampyre world and the fact that no one else has come up with anything that seems remotely close to this take on the blood-sucking fiends. I find the story of Zoey and her Friends entriguing; going through all the stages of the 'Change', with A LOT of ups and downs along the way! I'm really excited to read Ms Cast's amazingly superb series again! "

" Everyone hates it... Why? Ive read them all up to the last ones that im finishing up, theyre great! People are saying "I would never do that". Well, deal with it. She's not you. "

" Well....this was a shambles. I think the writers tried a little too hard to sound like teenagers, it made the writing style weak. The book is easy enough to get through and the story does flow. It has all the potential to be a good series...if only the writing was better. "

" So Loren really is dead. :( But so glad Erik is back. <3 And Neferet... I find it surprising how evil she really is... why did she give up on following Nyx? These books are really starting to get loads of action! And, interesting too. They're kinda like you can't stop reading til it's done! "
