The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them . . . including Dimitri.
He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

"It was beautiful. It made me feel so much love, pain, regret, indecision, and passion. It was an amazing read. The books just keep getting better as the series go. It seems like it would be the same old high school teenager's drama but it went so much further into real life and real issues while keeping HS just a small backdrop. It would be a big lost if I didn't read this. I'd recommend it to anyone."

" ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "
— Deborah, 2/20/2014" This one was great. I really liked it. I liked that Rose was away from the Academy. It made it more interesting. "
— Amber, 2/13/2014" Very very slow to start. Had a good ending though. I just don't find it necessary to retell the story from previous books. If we're reading this book we have probably Ben reading the whole series. "
— Stephanie, 1/31/2014" Amazing Final!! "
— Alba84jp, 1/30/2014" This book was amazing. The ending was kind of unexpected, but I was suprised Dimitri isn't dead. "
— Wetnys, 1/18/2014" God I loved these books. I am gonna have to read them again. "
— Crystal, 1/17/2014" This is no doubt the most heartbreaking of the six. Everytime I read it- and I DO reread them- I find myself choking up a little. I ache as Rose aches. A fabulous addition to the series, and a colorful roller coaster of emotions. A definite must read. But of course, read the others first :) "
— Summergirl21, 1/10/2014" All I can say is wow. This book is so intense and full of spunk, it's amazing. "

— Madisen, 12/17/2013" This book was boring until more than half way through. I almost gave up on it a few times and likely will give up on the series at this point. I have never really liked the series that much and it really just gone down hill from the start. "
— Brandee, 12/6/2013" Oh my goodness. I have been reading this series straight through at a pretty good pace and them BAM! The middle of this book was SO boring. I was tempted to flip right through it. It just went on and on and on. "
— Nikki, 5/28/2013" Very good read for young adults and adult romance readers. Lots of characters to fall in love with. One of the best Vampire Series to read (other than Twilight of course). "
— ã‚“, 5/1/2013" This was probably the toughest one to read. I won't spoil it but by now you are so involved with the characters that anything that affect them seems to happen to you. This series is my fall back series when nothing good has come out. "
— Kathleen, 3/6/2013" This book was pretty good. It wasn't as good and the 2nd and 3rd books though. It was a lot darker than the previous 3 books in the series, and actually pretty creepy. It did have some interesting revelations though. "
— Nita, 12/23/2012" The plot intensifies! This one's a winner. It kept me hooked the whole way through. "
— Fiona, 10/7/2012" I flew through this book despite it being over 500 pages. Definitely my favorite in the series so far. "
— Lauren, 7/30/2012" this was heartbreaking and in the end i held on to Lissa's and Rose' friendship for safety of not feeling entirely depressed. "
— Madypad, 5/23/2012" I Like this alot. Not my favorite in the series. A little slow and boring at times but i still enjoyed reading it. Love Vampire Academy. "
