Publisher Description

The recent Strigoi attack at St. Vladimir’s Academy was the deadliest ever in the school’s history, claiming the lives of Moroi students, teachers, and guardians alike. Even worse, the Strigoi took some of their victims with them . . . including Dimitri.

He’d rather die than be one of them, and now Rose must abandon her best friend, Lissa—the one she has sworn to protect no matter what—and keep the promise Dimitri begged her to make long ago. But with everything at stake, how can she possibly destroy the person she loves most?

"It was beautiful. It made me feel so much love, pain, regret, indecision, and passion. It was an amazing read. The books just keep getting better as the series go. It seems like it would be the same old high school teenager's drama but it went so much further into real life and real issues while keeping HS just a small backdrop. It would be a big lost if I didn't read this. I'd recommend it to anyone."

" Very very slow to start. Had a good ending though. I just don't find it necessary to retell the story from previous books. If we're reading this book we have probably Ben reading the whole series. "

" This is no doubt the most heartbreaking of the six. Everytime I read it- and I DO reread them- I find myself choking up a little. I ache as Rose aches. A fabulous addition to the series, and a colorful roller coaster of emotions. A definite must read. But of course, read the others first :) "

" This was probably the toughest one to read. I won't spoil it but by now you are so involved with the characters that anything that affect them seems to happen to you. This series is my fall back series when nothing good has come out. "
