The latest Arcane Society novel from New York Times- bestselling author of Running Hot and Fired Up-as she introduces her brand-new Looking Glass trilogy.
Jayne Ann Krentz follows up her highly successful Dreamlight Trilogy- written in collaboration with her two alter egos, Amanda Quick and Jayne Castle-with a brand-new story arc that begins in a secluded coastal town in northern California.
Scargill Cove is the perfect place for Fallon Jones, confirmed recluse and investigator of the paranormal. It's a hot spot, a convergence point for unusually strong currents of energy, which might explain why the town attracts misfits and drifters like moths to a flame. Now someone else has been drawn to the Cove-Isabella Valdez, on the run from some very dangerous men.
When she starts work as Fallon's assistant, Isabella impresses him by organizing his pathologically chaotic office-and doesn't bat an eye at the psychic aspect of his job. She's a kindred spirit, a sanctuary from a world that considers his talents a form of madness. But after a routine case unearths an antique clock infused with dark energy, Fallon and Isabella are dragged into the secret history of Scargill Cove and forced to fight for their lives, as they unravel a cutthroat conspiracy with roots in the Jones family business . . . and Isabella's family tree.

"I love this book about Fallon and Isabella. They are so perfect together and Isabella gets Fallon on such an amazing level, it was a relief to read about! I love both characters as individuals but as a couple they really made me smile. This book is not a good place to start JAK books as much is lost by not knowing other characters that pop up in this book. A good solid fun book, in my opinion. A-."

" This is a trilogy and I am ready to read the rest. I love the characters. "
— Jstengle, 2/19/2014" One of these days I will learn to make Ms. Krentz's books last longer than a day!! No, probably not. I've been looking forward to Fallon's story and In Too Deep did not disappoint. I really loved the last trilogy she wrote that spanned all of her pseudonyms and I'm sure the Looking Glass trilogy will be no exception. "
— Krista, 2/2/2014" Isabella, conspiracy theorist on the run, meets Fallon of J&J, who helps her protect the world from paranormal weapons. Happening upon a Krentz/Quick book published after approximately 1998 is the most efficient method to make me hate myself for half a day. I know- I KNOW- that the hero and heroine will be identical to the last book. I KNOW that the paranormal world will become even more complicated and even less interesting than the previous book. I KNOW that the writing will be more tell and less show than the previous book. I KNOW that the plot will be two loners falling into bed, briefly battling some childhood-instilled stoicism, fighting a common paranormal enemy with their brilliant talents, with the hero's talents just slightly more brilliant, showy, and useful than the heroine's, learning that the common enemy is actually an obscure and seemingly innocuous character presented at the beginning, and talenting their way out of a late-in-the-game kidnapping or surprise attack. And yet, is there a second's worth of hesitation in my mind before I pick up the book and struggle through it? No. I can only dream that one day I will finally, finally learn my damn lesson. "
— Sarah, 1/25/2014" Happy that Fallon is finally happy. I really liked Isabella's talent to tell people to get lost. But, I'd like Nightshade to be stopped. "
— Janna, 1/21/2014" 1 lect: 29/12/2010 - 29/12/2010 **** "

— Fabiola, 11/21/2013" Fast read, finished in one night. Enjoyable, guilty pleasure from an author whose work I enjoy. Escapism and fun. "
— Robin, 11/19/2013" I've enjoyed the Arcane Society books so far. (Apparently, I've missed a few since this is #10.) I guess I am drawn toward the supernatural - the ability that some people can have gifts and talents that defy nature as we know it. I'm looking forward to reading Fallon Jone's story. "
— Sylvia, 11/15/2013" I had never read any other of her books, so it felt like coming into the middle of a conversation. I have mixed opinions and am uncertain if I will follow up with others in the series. "
— JoDee, 10/20/2013" nice mindless read for a lazy sunday. "
— Denise, 8/23/2012" Liked the characters, the romance was way less than her usual steam, but the story itself kept me interested. "
— Cathy, 4/4/2012" I can't do these books anymore. I feel like I'm listening to a Scooby-Doo mystery. "

— Tamara, 5/7/2011" I am liking this series, I hope to read more of them. "
— Dana, 4/29/2011" There is a whole series of these characters who have different psychic talents. This happens to be the start of a new series dealing w/glass artifacts which also have psychic powers and those who use them. The story moved along pretty well and it was an easy read. Nothing too deep here. "
— Susan, 4/28/2011" Romance with a para-normal twist. This was the first book in the series to read for Romance Book Club. It was a quick read and I enjoyed it. There were a few times when I felt like I came in the middle with characters, but overall, I kept up. "
— Leeann, 4/23/2011" Couldn't put this down!!! Great read by an author I haven't read before.....I want more!!! "
— Kim, 4/15/2011" In a way one of the better Arcane Society novels since I liked the quirkiness of the characters. Although kind of wish she'd quit with the Arcane books already. "
— Melanie, 4/12/2011" disapointing, usually Ms Krentz's heroines have a bit more on the ball. The entire book felt like a explanation for next book...not sure that I'll bother with this trilogy. "
— Christa, 4/11/2011" Really good story line but it was a little too boring when the characters were trying to figure out the answers to the artifacts and who was doing what. "
