"Took a different twist for Laurens, not her usual hero. I really liked the "non-perfect" aspects of hero and heroine. I really think that the protagonist is being set up to be the hero in the 3 Cynster sisters book. You sorta liked him by the end of the first and in this one he becomes heroic, a villain by necessity not personality. Makes me eager to read the third."

" Again I love Stephanie Laurens! Again a fun story where the characters are well developed and continue to be very realistic when facing challenges...but the love scenes... Really - that many pages... more mystery in that area would be positive! I will ave to read number three when it comes out, despite the fact I am pretty sure I know the basic characters and story line! "
— Marti, 1/19/2014" More bearable than the first book. The story was still pretty terrible and practically just like book#1 but Eliza & Jeremy's character/romance was decent enough to read without rolling my eyes. "
— Huong, 1/5/2014" Better than the first book in the series, but still too much travelogue, not enough character development. And must every hero be/turn into a "warrior"? Scholars can be sexy, too! "
— Jackie, 1/2/2014" This one was exciting! I can't wait to get to the last one! "
— Andrea, 1/1/2014" Really like anything by Stephanie Laurens. Does not disappoint again! "
— Tammy, 12/7/2013" The worse book i read by Stephanie Laurens. Story just keeps going on and on without real meaning. Very boring. "
— Siiri, 11/30/2013" Better than the first book I thought. There was more action and less angst about their decision. I also enjoyed that Jeremy and Eliza were a different sort of Hero and heroine than you normally see in Stephanie Lauren's writing. Plus the crossover with the bastion club was great. "
— AJPattz, 11/21/2013" This book was okay but the plot moved very slowly. I would have liked to see more time spent on character development and back story than on the endless chase which did become tedious after a time. "
— Barbara, 6/24/2013" It's hard not to love the continuing exploits of the Cynster family, and this one doesn't disappoint. "
— Carol, 5/14/2013" I only put really liked it because the story makes you believe a certain someone is dead but of course the third novel will bring it all together. Is this a spoiler? No, because if you've read the other Cynster novels you know Stephanie Laurens is predictable. "
— Angela, 9/20/2012" Argh! It's good but WAY too much the same story as Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue. And excessive use of "evocative." "
— Barbara, 8/15/2012" Less entertaining than the first in the trilogy, but then again, the heroine was blonde. "
— Rachel, 5/3/2012" Another nice book in the series. I especially liked that the hero was a bit different than the men in other books. "
— Erin, 3/4/2012" It was excatly like the previous book in the series. "
— Staci, 10/14/2011" okay now i have to wait til feb. "
— Shalon, 10/3/2011" Another Cynster book. Actually, unless you are a true Cynster fan, you might want to skip this one if you read the first one of this series-within-the-series (Viscount Breckenridge to the Rescue) as it is almost a duplicate, only about the middle sister, Eliza. "
— Donna, 9/28/2011" Not quite as good as the first book in the series but still very good. Left me anxious for the next book in this series. "
— Sherry, 9/13/2011" I really love the Cynster series and this book also ties in with another fave, the Bastion Club! "
