It all begins with a painting called Guilt. Eve Duncan’s daughter, Jane, has no idea why she painted the portrait of the chilling face that now hangs in a Paris gallery. But the members of a cult that dates back to the time of Christ know both the face and the significance behind it. They believe that Jane must die—when the moment is right, and not an instant before she leads them to an ancient treasure whose value and power are beyond price. But for now they target those close to her, killing without mercy or conscience.
Jane’s journey takes her from Paris to Scotland to a cave in the Holy Land, as she fights with all she has to save her life. Even with Eve’s help, can she possibly escape before the clock stops ticking?
Eight Days to Live begins with an ancient conspiracy and a shocking betrayal, but will it end with the death of Eve Duncan and the sacrifice of Jane MacGuire? With Eight Days to Live, #1 New York Times bestselling author Iris Johansen delivers a thriller that will chill you to the core.

"Another strong addition to the series. I really like the new characters she has introduced in the last few books, although Lucas is going to take some getting used to. Johansen seems to be settling better into the paranormal parts of the story; the branches out from Eve and Bonnie are smoother."
— Lorie (4 out of 5 stars)
" While I liked this book,I really like the ones that are more about Eve better. "
— Sierra, 2/20/2014" I couldn't get into this book and didn't finish it. I am looking forward to the Eve Duncan series to end. I have continued to read the series because I thought it would get better. I look forward to the last 3 books in the series and leaving Iris Johansen behind. "
— Reeny, 2/17/2014" Enjoyed this book about a young woman who paints a picture from a dream. She is shocked to find out she is makred for death because the painting of the face she painted is of Judas, and a cult that diefied Judas is out to kill her. They have given her 8 days to live. "
— Doreene, 2/9/2014" Eve Duncan thriller. This one involves Jane to a large degree. A real page turner. "
— Kathy, 2/8/2014" I didn't like this book as mauch as her others. I had to "get back into it" each time I picked it up. "
— Stephanie, 1/29/2014" Jane was blah in this book. The whole book was not up to snuff. I felt the need to flip pages to find a more interesting part. "
— Christine, 1/29/2014" Very good book. Could not put it down! I read it in two days! Must read. "
— Maribel, 1/15/2014" Requires a willing suspension of disbelief, but I found it an easy read, and was happy to see another book featuring Jane. If you are expecting to see much of Eve and Joe, this is not your book. "
— PastAllReason, 12/23/2013" Better than 5 stars best book yet "
— Donna, 12/13/2013" I read I.J. because her typical story line is what I am craving. I enjoyed it - some parts were a little out there but I feel like I need to re-read some of her older books to remember how everyone us interconnected. "
— Kathryn, 11/24/2013" Love the Eve Duncan series - although this one is a great addition it really is less about Eve and more about Jane, her daughter. And I'll definitely be waiting for the follow up! "
— Helena, 11/13/2013" Consistant with Iris Johansen's content, her characters are depressing. This was a decent book but reading it makes me want to shoot someone. And, her female characters although strong, seem dense in a lot of ways. "
— Bluestarart, 10/21/2013" A re-read. Still was a good thriller. Fortunately had been a few years so I did remember the plot, but not all the details, so was still able to enjoy it. "
— Alma, 8/9/2013" Little Eve and even less forensics. But other Duncan characters, Jane, Jock and Seth, fill the void well. Johansen's attempt to emulate Dan Brown. "
— Hapzydeco, 3/31/2013" I am a big fan of the Eve Duncan series and this was a very good read. Can't wait to read her next one. "
— Ronih2o, 3/27/2013" Very different but a great read "
— Bookwormgrandma, 9/29/2012" I love the Eve Duncan series but this has to be the worst book I've ever read by Iris Johansen. If it weren't for the fact that I really want to finish the series I wouldn't have finished it. It took me well over a month to read this because I just had no desire to pick it up. "
— Augie, 2/11/2012" such a great book i love her books. "
— Annamarie, 12/23/2011" I couldn't put the book down. "
— Mama, 12/23/2011" lot's of action to keep you interested "
— Deb, 9/1/2011" Not too bad. I like Eve better then Jane but I guess you have to evolve at some point. Love listening to audiobooks when there are irish characters. "
— Michelle, 8/17/2011" Love it.......... keeps u on your toes... "
— Kristin, 7/11/2011" SUMMER READING CLUB: "This latest book in the Eve Duncan series centers on her adopted daughter,Jane. There are several murders and interesting historical tie-ins with exciting conclusion. Good summer read." "
— Valley, 5/20/2011" Typical Iris Johansen! Great read! Always want more!! "
— Carrie, 4/20/2011" Another disappointing read. This is NOT an Eve Duncan book; this is about her adopted daughter and some outrageous mystery of why she is being hunted. I only finished it because I like the Caleb character. But this was a completely unbelievable story and I didn't even like Jane's character. "
— Tamlyn, 4/19/2011" 2.5 stars. This is only tangential to the main Even Duncan series. If you like Jane and the paranormal aspect of her story, then you might like this. The ending implies there will be another book for Jane someday. "
— Harriet, 4/16/2011" Really good, couldn't put it down. "
