"The ending of this book is far too abrupt considering the colossal build up throughout it. Nothing is told of what happens to the King and Queen nor what actually happened to Harken, whether he is deceased or not. I am also now confused by the rules governing the Endowed as Manfred Bloor manages to acquire Fire-Bringing either in addition to or in place of his Hypnotism Endowment. That being said, the rest of the story was quite compelling if a little rushed. I am now utterly convinced that Tancred and Lysander are a gay couple as they even shared a chair at one point."

" best book in the entire series! i love it when uncle paton says that his father is mr. pilgrim. i never noticed, but once i knew, i thought it was king of obvious. i also love it when they circle around the tree! asa rocks! but i had to read this three times to really get the concept. "
— Michelle, 2/20/2014" I'm not so sure about this one it seemed like an ender but the saga drags on. I liked it though because it finally unites him with his dad. A character I want to learn more about. "
— Luther, 2/5/2014" i like this series a whole lot. this one charlie is mainly trying to find his forgotten father. so it's like a mystery book and i was right in guessing who it was. it was one of the piano teachers who had been hypnotized forgetting who he was. "
— Alex, 2/1/2014" Another very good book in the Children of the Red King Seris. In this book Charlie faces his most dangerous power yet and gets a step closer to finding who is father is. The beginning of the book drags you in straight away. With action in every chapter and a very suspenseful ending this book is a must read. I liked how Jenny Nimmo gives different perspectives of all the characters. After reading the four previous books in this seris I would highly reccomend this one as well. People that love action should definetely read this book. "
— Jameswilson8, 1/12/2014" I read these with my kids. They loved them--I thought they were good; maybe a little bit too Harry-Potterish, but not as good. They were simpler than Harry Potter. "
— Analisa, 1/8/2014" I think I enjoy these as audio books more than I would enjoy reading them. Simon Russell Beale is one of our favorite readers. "
— Mychael-Ann, 1/3/2014" Awesome! I highly recommend it! "
— Averysimone, 1/2/2014" Same as the others! Awesome! "
— JKDTriplet, 12/21/2013" I thought this book was really good . I love this series I never want to stop reading it.Charlie finds his dad you has been hypnotized for 10 years and finally comes back to his senses and Charlie saved him just in time because Lyell(the names of Charlie's father)was almost dead "
— Jayda, 11/21/2013" Huh. Charlie's father's identity really *was* that obvious. "
— Aly, 11/20/2013" Not a very good series in general. Wanna-be Harry Potter, not written nearly as good. Would be good for Pre-Potter readers. "
