"Very interesting twists with this story! Love Sarah Booth's dedication to her partner and best friend Tinkie. The honesty of their friendship is tender and so real. I love Sarah Booth's attachment and devotion to her family plantation, Dahlia house. You really get the sense of her love for her family home when she goes riding with her faithful horse throught the cotton fields and when she roams through the grounds with her ghost of a sidekick Jitty. The descriptions of the land along with her reminiscent feelings of growing up on the plantation are so moving you want to live their with her. The murder mystery was very intriguing and wove a web where many characters could be the murderer. And, it wouldn't be much of a review if I didn't include the love story that exist between Coleman and Sarah Booth! Let's just say it keeps me coming back for more! Can't wait for #7!"

" once again, a fun read. "
— Janet, 1/27/2014" I liked this southern setting detective mystery story. I would like to read more in the series hope there are more :) "
— Jen, 1/12/2014" Very good - nice twists "
— Joer, 1/12/2014" The minute I saw the cover, which is totally different from the earlier books, and read the "If you like Janet Evanovich and The Ya-Ya Sisterhood" or whatever it said, *I* said, "Uh oh." And it shows. Haines's mystery series was strong -- until now. Sarah Booth keeps moaning about the same things, the ghost has nothing much to offer new, her friend Tinkie acts so totally out of character -- and I think it's time for the author to mercifully put an end to this series. "
— Meg, 1/7/2014" My favorite so far! Keeps the interest alive. "
— Claudia, 12/31/2013" Another wonderful book with great characters "

— Kelly, 10/19/2013" Another good addition to this series. I really haven't been disappointed once with this series. This one had a bit less humor and a bit more suspense - more drama with the "regular" characters, but that was a good thing. "
— Kitty, 10/13/2013" Sarah Booth and Tinky are hired to investigate the murder of Quentin McGee after she publishes a tell-all book that upsets many families in the Delta. "
— Kitty, 9/19/2013" I really liked this book-as I do all the books in the "Bones" series. I just got finished re-reading this one. I did start feeling like I was wading through all of the "Tinkie hero-worship" stuff. That could have been toned down a little. All in all, this is a cozy book that I really enjoyed. "
— cassie, 6/7/2013" sarah booth delaney finds herself investigating a murder of an author that revealed everyones dirty laundry "
— Dpande, 2/8/2013" I really liked this series! I wish I had started with the first one.. I'm going to check out the first book from my library this weekend. The main characters are PI's based out of Louisana. It has plenty of kooky family members and characters. "
— Mary, 2/2/2013" Finished the book. Loved the characters and the mystery. I knew the murderer but was also kept on my toes. I have to say, I am a fan of Carolyn Haines and will get the rest of her books. I love mysteries. The south was a good setting. Personally, I think they should make a movie from the book! "
— Yvonne, 12/1/2012" Cover quote got it right, this is a southern version of Stephanie Plum. Lula=Tinkie and Rex =Sweetie Pie. Guess grandma is the ghost. Hope to read more of this series ! I always hate to start in the middle but sometimes it happens. "
— Carol, 7/27/2012" I think I should start at the beginning of this series. It jumped right in and I was a little lost. Clearly there is some back story that makes this flow. "
— Johanna, 3/20/2012" I did figure it out about halfway through, the emotions of this one kept me reading! "
— Kari, 3/12/2012" First time I've read this author. It was okay. I managed to figure out the murderer, which is unusual for me, got frustrated with the main character, and thought the end dragged on about 20 pages too long. "
— Grace, 1/14/2012" yay! better than the last one "
