  • “A fascinating mystery that no reader will be able to solve until the author reveals the end. A perfectly written mystery with a cast that is humorous, charming and deadly. Haines certainly is one of the best mystery writers working today.”

" This series is wonderful! I really enjoy listen to this narrator! She has a great way of distinguishing between the different characters accents and voices. I do wish that you had all of the books in the series as there are books missing in between and some things take place that you miss hearing how it happened because the book isn't there. Overall, I really enjoy this series and the narrator. Please try to add more of this series into you shop so it's easier to keep up with the cast of characters. "

" I really liked this book in Carolyn Haines Series however I will warn you that I found restating the obvious quite a few times. It didn't detract from her story but it was something I have never ran across before in her series. "

" Fun as usual! My favorite quote: Sarah Booth snubbing pedigree- "I was found floating in a rush basket on the MS River wearing a coat of many colors. I have prophetic dreams and I sense I was a priest in a past life. That's all I know." "

" I read this latest Sarah Booth Delaney book so fast I hardly came up for air. I love the world the author has created and can't wait to visit it again. This was one of the best. It reminded me of the old Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden books I grew up with - with a touch of gothic romance tossed in. "

" Seems like the PIs involved were a bit too easily duped and manipulated. The story took a lot of twists and turns and the ending did have some surprises. "

" A little too predictable, I was wondering alot of the time why the main character would do some of the things she did. "

  • 3 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 53 out of 5 Jeanie | 5/13/2012

" Maybe I just wasn't in the mood, it was good but something was lacking. I considered not rating it until I read it again, but don't know if I will. I like the books where she is home, so maybe the interaction of her friends was all that was missing. It was at least ok and maybe better than ok. "

" I love Sarah Booth and have enjoyed all of the books of this series to date. That said, this one felt off. Sarah Booth seemed to have lost her heart and to call the plot highly improbable and implausible would be a kindness. "

" There wasn't nearly enough Jitty in this one to my way of thinking. it was ok, though. i didn't see through the mystery, (course, i never do. I'm way to literal in my thinking.) and it was easy enough reading. just hope there's more jitty in the next one. "
