Publisher Description

In this 12th entry in the award-winning series, Carolyn Haines' intrepid PI Sarah Booth comes up against porn-star-turned-psychic Sherry Cameron, who runs a medium business from a haunted estate on the edge of town. After growing suspicious that Sherry might be exploiting her emotionally vulnerable-and extremely wealthy-clients, Sarah disguises herself as a maid and sneaks onto Sherry's estate. But what she discovers there is deadlier than she could have imagined.

"I have read all of this series and always look forward to a new title. I especially liked this one as the plot essentially stayed in one physical location, an upscale think tank, complete with a medium who performs senances and of course a wealthly woman about to be deprived of her fortune by her son. Lots of twists and turns, two murders and Sheriff Coleman Peters to the rescue of Sarah Booth Delaney. Yes this is a fairly predictible series, but I love it for the fact that it takes place in Sunflower County Mississippi which really exists and the author always has some local details in the story. Makes me feel like I am actually there and yes I will wait patiently for the next title. But please more Coleman Peters and not Graf, Sarah Booth's finance."

" I love Carolyn Haines, and I love this series! Every year I eagerly await the next chapter in the life of Sarah Booth Delany, her ghost Jitty, and her various friends and colleagues! Her latest book, Bonefire of the Vanities, is one more jewel in her crown of achievements. She slowly lures you into the story until you find yourself immersed in intrigue to the point of oblivion from the outside world. This is done with characters that appear so real you feel as though you are in a circle of personal friends. Each book has a more creative plot than the last and Bonefire of the Vanities is no exception. "
