" The minute I saw the cover, which is totally different from the earlier books, and read the "If you like Janet Evanovich and The Ya-Ya Sisterhood" or whatever it said, *I* said, "Uh oh." And it shows. Haines's mystery series was strong -- until now. Sarah Booth keeps moaning about the same things, the ghost has nothing much to offer new, her friend Tinkie acts so totally out of character -- and I think it's time for the author to mercifully put an end to this series. "

" Very interesting twists with this story! Love Sarah Booth's dedication to her partner and best friend Tinkie. The honesty of their friendship is tender and so real. I love Sarah Booth's attachment and devotion to her family plantation, Dahlia house. You really get the sense of her love for her family home when she goes riding with her faithful horse throught the cotton fields and when she roams through the grounds with her ghost of a sidekick Jitty. The descriptions of the land along with her reminiscent feelings of growing up on the plantation are so moving you want to live their with her. The murder mystery was very intriguing and wove a web where many characters could be the murderer. And, it wouldn't be much of a review if I didn't include the love story that exist between Coleman and Sarah Booth! Let's just say it keeps me coming back for more! Can't wait for #7! "

" I really liked this book-as I do all the books in the "Bones" series. I just got finished re-reading this one. I did start feeling like I was wading through all of the "Tinkie hero-worship" stuff. That could have been toned down a little. All in all, this is a cozy book that I really enjoyed. "

" I really liked this series! I wish I had started with the first one.. I'm going to check out the first book from my library this weekend. The main characters are PI's based out of Louisana. It has plenty of kooky family members and characters. "

" Finished the book. Loved the characters and the mystery. I knew the murderer but was also kept on my toes. I have to say, I am a fan of Carolyn Haines and will get the rest of her books. I love mysteries. The south was a good setting. Personally, I think they should make a movie from the book! "
