Unconventional Molly Abberwick, trustee of her late father's scientific foundation, is mad enough to fire her new consultant, Dr. Harry Trevelyan. A brilliant expert on new inventions, the handsome Harry irritates Molly to no end with his preposterous insistence that they have an affair, and that it could be planned, predicted, and run like a science project. But just when Molly is ready to let him have a piece of her mind, not her heart, she discovers the eminent Dr. Trevelyan is not what he seems.
First, there is his family, a long line of carnival folk who run the Smoke & Mirrors Amusement Company. Then there are the paranormal premonitions which bring Harry to Molly's side when she most needs him. And when her troubles escalate into violence and a mysterious stalker threatens her life, Molly turns to Harry's sixth sense for help, and discovers she needs Harry not just for a week, or for an hour, but forever in love.

"Where to begin? A romance novel, with the male protagonist being someone with three phds, and descended from modern-day robber barons on one side, and carnies on the other, and the two families are feuding and the female protagonist being a rich young lady who is the daughter of a dead inventor, who also runs a tea and spice shop as well as managing the foundation that is supposed to give grants to promising young wacky inventors and of course she's spunky. Also, there's psychic powers. And a fairly obvious bad guy."

— RT Book Reviews (4½ stars, Top Pick!)" I read this years ago and remember liking it. Molly Abberwick is the trustee of her late father's scientific foundation and also owns a tea shop. She hired Dr. Harry Stratton Trevelyan to help her at the foundation. But now it was time to let him go and Molly is ready to do just that when he proposes an affair. "
— Pamela(AllHoney), 2/14/2014" Not one of her best, but still enjoyable. The characters, as usual are captivating, although the side characters were a little weaker than usual. I love this author, and do throughly enjoy the great heroines and funny unique relationships. This one was no exception in those categories. "

— Sara, 1/7/2014" The whole Romance Genre of novels is based on a fundamental misunderstanding by women of what men want, and this book is no exception. In spite of a pinch of the paranormal, it is a churned out potboiler. "

— Fedora, 9/13/2012" Molly is an optimist who is gullible to every con man. Thank goodness for Harry Stratton Trevelyan. If it weren't for him, all the money from her Trust would be swindled away. Molly is sweet and kind. I just find her a little naive. Still this is a nice happily ever after book. "
