" Just finished this up today. I went into it thinking that it would be more mystery than anything else, but it was ultimately just a romance novel. Which was okay, but there were things about the main character that truly annoyed the crap out of me. Perhaps most of that had to do with the narrator's voice. The majority of the time she narrated, she talked in this warbly, half crying, whiny, pouty tone. And since the story was told from the protagonist's POV, it affected her likability .. and not in a good way. She did the other voices just fine though. Perhaps I would have felt differently if I'd read the book rather than listened to it. The mystery part of it wasn't that difficult. I figured out early on who was behind the main goings-on. Still, the writing was quirky enough to warrant a second go-around by checking out the sequel. Perhaps they've changed narrators. For the better, I hope! "
