Are you a highly sensitive person? Do you have a keen imagination and vivid dreams? Is time alone each day as essential to you as food and water? Are you “too shy” or “too sensitive” according to others? Do noise and confusion quickly overwhelm you? If your answers are yes, you may be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP).

Most of us feel overstimulated every once in a while, but for the Highly Sensitive Person, it’s a way of life. In this groundbreaking book, Dr. Elaine Aron, a psychotherapist, workshop leader and highly sensitive person herself, shows you how to identify this trait in yourself and make the most of it in everyday situations. Drawing on her many years of research and hundreds of interviews, she shows how you can better understand yourself and your trait to create a fuller, richer life.

In The Highly Sensitive Person, you will discover:

" If you are a HSP and like self help books you'll enjoy it. Best to do the online self test first before reading this. It's amazing how much this book explains about why you are like you are if you are a HSP. But it won't change your life or anything. "

Sheds a lot of insight on HSP and how to appreciate it. "

" This book was life-changing for me, as I saw myself on every page. Dr. Aron gave me permission to see myself as gifted rather than flawed, something I've always struggled with. I refer back to my many highlights in this book often. "

" Finally, a self-help book that is truly helpful! I'm usually skeptical of such things, but Aron's work is well-grounded in research and makes so much sense. I suppose I always knew I was highly sensitive, but it was nice to have that verified and to feel embraced instead of rejected because of it. "

" I didn't think Aron's writing skills were great in this book, but I really enjoyed the overall concept. I think her Highly Sensitive Child book was better written and also more useful overall - not just for my sensitive child but for me personally as well. "
