" This is the first book I've read by Nicholas Sparks. I've seen a couple of his movie adaptations. I liked the plot, but disliked the narrative voice. Getting inside the head of each character was kind of annoying at times. I also thought the writing was kind of dumbed down for the masses. However, it was still entertaining and I guess that's really all I was looking for. So I really shouldn't complain... "
