" I listened to the audiobook, and as always I thoroughly enjoyed Jim Dale's performance. I enjoyed Emerald Atlas but I enjoyed Fire Chronicle even more. Experiencing the story from Michael's POV made for such a strong emotional connection. You really can't help but root for him. The ending is a bit frustrating, but I can't wait for the next book and Emma's story. I guess this series is typical middle grade fantasy, but Stephens tells a good story. "

" The sequel to the Emerald Atlas, the adventure continues. This is a young adult fantasy in the tradition of The Chronicles of Narnia or Harry Potter. The series begins and returns to the present, though adventures take three siblings through a magical world complete with elves, dwarfs, magicians and witches. Not as sophisticated as Tolkien, though more mature than Narnia. This is a solid work for the genre and lots fun if you like this sort of thing. "

" It got even better! I love it when the sequel proves to be more intriguing. This one has mystery, humor, as there are sections, you just have to laugh out loud, and if I'm laughing then I know the middle school age readers will too. It ends with you wondering when's the next book? For those needing tales similar to the HP books, this series will suit them. "
