Plot Summary

Like most pre-teens, Percy Jackson isn't exactly sure how he fits in. To make matters worse, he's the child of a mortal mother and a Greek god father. Percy always seems to be in trouble, but his trouble usually stems from his desire to defend his friends from the mythological creatures that pursue them.

Percy is the main character in the Camp Half Blood series by Rick Riordan. The series is written for young adults, but many adults enjoy the books and younger children were introduced to the characters through the 2010 feature film of the series' first book.

Percy has matured a lot since the beginning of the series, but some things have not changed. In the third book, Titan's Curse, his friend Grover finds two half-bloods who could prove to be very powerful but his discovery has put him in grave danger.

Percy, Grover and their demigod friends Annabeth and Thalia are caught in a trap set by Kronos, the Titan lord. In this case, Percy can't simply fight his adversary with his bronze sword, Riptide. In fact, it's not brawn that threatens the crew. Instead, Kronos has issued a prophecy, and Percy and his friends must overcome this curse to escape from danger.

Riordan is best known as a young adult author, and is well-loved for the two Camp Half Blood series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians and The Heroes of Olympus. Riordan's other young adult series include The Kane Chronicles and The 39 Clues, and he also wrote the Tres Navarre series for adults. The first Percy Jackson book, The Lightning Thief, was published in 2005 followed by The Sea of Monsters in 2006 and Titan's Curse in 2007.

"(view spoiler)[ Even the Goddess of Love herself ships Percabeth! I rest my case! I'm a bit mad at Atena for stopping Percy from telling Annabeth the true about his feelings but damn that was probably a good move! xD (hide spoiler)] And now the library doesn't have volume 4! HELP!"

Publisher Summary

When Percy Jackson receives an urgent distress call from his friend Grover, he immediately prepares for battle. He knows he’ll need his powerful demigod allies, Annabeth and Thalia, at his side; his trusty bronze sword, Riptide; and . . . a ride from his mom.

The demigods race to the rescue, to find that Grover has made an important

discovery: two new powerful half-bloods whose parentage is unknown. But that’s not all that awaits them. The Titan lord, Kronos, has set up his most devious trap yet, and the young heroes have just fallen prey. Hilarious and action-packed, this third adventure in the series finds Percy faced with his most dangerous challenge so far: the chilling prophecy of the Titan’s curse.
