Publisher Description

I am Meredith Gentry, P.I. and Princess Merry, heir to the throne of Faerie. Now there are those among us who whisper I am more. And who can blame them? I've awakened the dazzling magic that's slumbered in them for thousands of years. But the thing is, I can't figure out why.

My aunt, Queen of Air and Darkness, is no longer distracted by her sadistic hobbies. Her obsession has turned unwaveringly to me. The mission to get me pregnant and beat my cousin Prince Cel to the crown is taking longer than expected. Even though I spend each night with the Queen's Ravens, my immortal guards, no child has come of our decadent pleasures. But something else is happening. My magic courses through me uncontrollably. And as I lock my half-mortal body with their full-Sidhe-blooded ones, the power surges like never before.

It all began with a chalice. I dreamed of it, and it appeared, cool and hard, beside me when I awoke. My guards know the ancient relic well—its disappearance ages ago stripped them of all of their vital powers. But it is here with us now. My touch resonates with its force, and they're consumed with it, their Sidhe essences lit up by it. But even as they cherish me for this unexpected gift, there are those who loathe me for it. Me, a mongrel, only half fey and part mortal. The Unseelie court has suffered for so long, and there are some who would not have it weakened further by an impure queen. My enemies grow in number every day. But they do not know what I am capable of. Nor, for that matter, do I.…

"I enjoyed this book. I think it is better than the first two in the series. The faerie elements are really starting to come out and be counted. It's interesting. After I finished it I was thinking that I don't really like violence in real life and I don't really want to do the great majority of sexual things in the author's books in real life, but I thoroughly enjoy reading about them because of the way she describes them with such relish and glee. It has a good effect on my metabolism. I get a little happier and more pepped up - the way an excellent episode of NCIS makes me feel."

" I can't seem to put the books down. I am seeing lots of similarities between the Merry books and the Anita books, character wise. But it still has me wanting more. tomorrow I start book 4 "

" I really can't even call this a complete read. I read until chpt 20 then returned it since it was over due and I couldn't renew it. I would have finished it though if I hadn't had to bring it back to the library. I can't say if sometime in the future I will ever check it out again and continue on with the series but I really have no real urge to do so anytime soon. To many books out there that I want to read. " This book was horrible! There was absolutely no point to it whatsoever. Merry is a PI, yet there was no investigating going on at all. The whole theme of this installment seemed to be (and i'm quoting from the book here) "f*cking." i was ready to pull my hair out! The narrator, who also read the previous 2 books, changed the way she said the characters' names as well. It was most annoying. How can you say the names one way for 2 books and then change it completely for the third? WTF? after this book, i'm not sure I'll continue on w/ this series. I just don't have any feelings for the characters. "

" While I liked the over all story, I am starting to get annoyed with the author constantly reminding me who is who and what they had done. By book 3, I would think the reader would remember. The other annoying thing about listening to this book, the narrator who has been the same throughout the series all of a sudden changed how she pronounced the character names. Very distracting. "

" Third book in the Merry Gentry series. This book, like the rest of LKH's is a page turner! Merrys attempts to conceive a child have not been successful, but her magic is growing. A very steamy read indeed! "
