For Lieutenant Teri Howe, one of the best helicopter pilots in the naval reserves, nothing stands in the way of her passion for flying--until a past mistake surfaces, jeopardizing everything she's worked for. Senior Chief Stan Wolchonok has made a career of tackling difficult challenges so it's no surprise when he comes to Teri's aid, knowing that his personal code of honor--and perhaps his heart--will be at risk.

When a jet carrying an American senator's daughter is hijacked, Stan's unflinching determination and Teri's steadfast courage are put to the ultimate test. The rescue mission will be daring and dangerous. Yet somewhere between peril and resolution, the line between friends and lovers begins to blur, pushing both their lives over the edge... " Too many people convinced that their romantic interest could never love someone as unlovable as themselves. "

" I loved this book! Stan and Teri's story is a little bit frustrating because of Stan's stubbornness, but it was still great. Sam & Alyssa...what can I say? It's really nice getting their backstory since I already know how their relationship ends. I know I'd hate reading this particular installment if I didn't know everything turns out ok in the end! The only downside to this book was the WWII story...I just didn't like it as much as I've liked others. "

" It's not a bad book. I'm just not a fan of romance novels. If you like romance you'd probably enjoy it. It is one of the better ones I've read. "

" Loved every moment of this. Scary and tense, but also searingly emotional. Gina blew me away. Sam and Alyssa ... *happy/sad sigh* "

" Once again, I could do without the WWII flashbacks. I enjoyed Locke & Starret, till the end. And Teri pulling out all that emotional stuff in front of Stan's teammates seemed inappropriate & even disrespectful. But it was good. "

" One of my favorite books...I've re-read several times. Be warned, this book has some intense scenes, and parts are very hard to read. Includes some very adult topics, including gang rape! But an excellent, interesting, compelling story! :) "

" If you like the series, you'll like this book. I wouldn't suggest this entry if you're reading the series for the first time, though. Compared to other characters in the series, the main ones here just aren't as fun and the plot of a plane hijacking might be uncomfortable to some. "

" Poor Gina. I like Max. Teri is pretty good. I like Stan the troubleshooter. I love SEALS. Well, how romance novelist write their SEALS. So far this series is pretty good. My first real foray into military guys. I can see why women go ga ga over them. "

" GREAT book!! This is the beginning of the Max/Gina storyline with a lot of Sam & Alyssa, too. Teri and Stan were terrific, even though they are minor characters in the rest of the series. Sexy scenes, gripping action! "

    Muldoon was really funny.

But it was sad at the end when Sam didn't get Alyssa even though they both obviously love each other soooooo much. "
