Publisher Description

Beloved and bestselling author Suzanne Brockmann writes terrific edge-of-your-seat novels of romantic suspense set in the world's exciting danger zones and exotic hot spots. Now, in her new sensational novel, she comes stateside for her most action-packed adventure yet.

It was supposed to be a dog and pony show, an elaborate demonstration of SEAL rescue techniques to celebrate a presidential visit to a California naval base. Professional, no-nonsense White House staffer Joan DaCosta arrives early to scope out the area. Assigned to be her SEAL liaison is Lieutenant Junior Grade Mike Muldoon, a born leader—strong, decisive, tough, and fearless.

Against her better judgment, Joan finds herself drawn to the handsome young officer. Skilled at being "one of the guys" in the mostly male world of politics, she is dismayed when Muldoon breaks through her defenses. While tension mounts between them, fueling their growing attraction, a far more sinister danger is lurking, as terrorists plot a daring attack against the president. To protect their commander-in-chief, Joan and Muldoon must risk not only their hearts but their very lives.

"I absolutely LOVED this book. I am going to try to find the rest of the series now and continue to read through them. Although at times the back and forth between Joan and Michael was a little much for me, I thought it was absolutely engrossing. "

" After rereading this, I remembered why I didn't remember anything about the book. The review who said "thank God for Mary Lou" was right. Mary Lou really saves this book. It was still enjoyable, because it's Suzanne Brockmann, but it just doesn't meet up with the standards I hold for her. "

" Great characters, but as a romance there were too many plotlines (three) to really develop any of the relationships effectively. I wish there was more emphasis placed on the central plot and only one subplot. This book is in the middle of an on-going series, and I'll likely read other books in the series, though I didn't feel the urge to rush out and get another one. "

" This storyline was a bit slow and the romance was flat. I liked the main characters, but they just didn't have chemistry. There wasn't much action in this book, but it's obvious this book was meant to set-up the plot for the next book. Can't wait to read Sam and Alyssa's story! "
