For the 18th book in the Argeneau series, Immortal Ever After still possesses the same freshness as the earlier books and will keep readers hooked from beginning to end. The heroine of the book is Valerie, a veterinarian who has no friends or family in the area. So there's no one to notice her disappearance when she's taken by a bloodthirsty vampire who keeps women locked in cages in the basement—one for each day of the week. However, Valerie fights back, pretending to be drugged and staking the large vampire named Igor who is taking her to the "master.
Valerie passes out from blood loss and wakes up in protective custody only to find that the man who helped rescue her, Anders, is a vampire himself. Although she's attracted to him, will she be able to trust him after her recent encounter? For Anders, the matter is simple because, as he soon discovers, Valerie is his life mate. Valerie, on the other hand, has to go through an adjustment period because she didn't even know that vampires existed and, in a short period of time, she's been brutally attacked by one and saved by another.
This is a steamy, paranormal romance where the chemistry between the two main characters is unmistakable. The heroine, Valerie, is also very appealing because she's a strong woman who doesn't need a man to save her. The hero, Anders, is compelling in his own way because he's determined to make Valerie fall in love with him.

"I love these books! I can read them over and over as new ones come out. I keep them,no donations for these. #18, Anders who has been a prescence in many of the books has the saddest back story by far. And Valerie is a brave, strong character who keeps rescuing herself. Love Lucian and Leigh too. Sands Immortals have a great "vampire" ethos, almost believable. Unless Sands introduces some new characters, Briocker is the only unmatched character-will the series end at 19. I hope not."
