After seven hundred years of life, Marguerite Argeneau finally has a career. Well, the start of one, anyway. She's training to be a private investigator, and her first assignment is to find an immortal's mother. It seemed simple enough, until Marguerite wakes up one evening to find herself at the wrong end of a sword. Now she realizes she's in way over her head.
Julius Notte wants to protect Marguerite, and not because someone just tried to take her head off. She doesn't know it yet, but she's his lifemate and he's determined to woo her. It's been over five hundred years since he last courted a woman, but surely the techniques haven't changed. Now if only he can keep her alive—so to speak—so they can have that happily-ever-after.

"I read this whole series other than her latest one, which is on my to read list. I loved all of these characters and the story lines were intriguing and fresh. This one was my favorite in the series. Marguerite and Julius are my favorite couple and so it their story. Although I loved them all."

— Krystal, 1/28/2014" This was probably the best Argeneau book so far. I didn't want to put it down and the mystery kept me reading. Most of the other books, you know exactly who is going to get together, but the back story here was wonderful. "

— Sheila, 1/23/2014" Marguerite is the matriarch of the whole family. It's awesome to read her story. She's funny and she living with her family. "
— Latoya, 1/21/2014" The best book in this series and with all interesting twists and turns, I couldn't even put this book down. The epilogue provide a little ending which sums up all the stories and how she "interferes" with everyone and their lifemate. "
— Kei, 1/19/2014" very intresting..... "
— Livebleedie, 1/19/2014" This was ok. I like Margarete but I kind of lost interest after they took care of the villain. It lost some punch after that. "
— Robin, 1/15/2014" Definitely one of my favorites. I loved everything about this book and am looking forward to reading more novels by Linsay Sands. "
— Sanela, 12/23/2013" This book is Rockin! I am reading it again, for like the 10th time! and I love this book! "
— Brittany, 12/9/2013" My favorite of all the Argeneau books so far. I enjoyed learning about Marguerite's past. We also find out what made Jean Claude so bitter (and a drunk). While this doesn't justify how he treated Marguerite, it does at least explain why he became a drunk. "
— Gaynell, 12/1/2013" Just got done re-reading this and it was great! I loved to see how happy Marguerite got to be and can't wait for the next book to be wrote :) "

— WeaklingNo14, 12/13/2012" This book in the Argeneau series was better than the previous two that I've read. More interesting storyline that wraps up the mystery started in Vampires Are Forever. "

— Jenny, 6/13/2012" I love all of Lynsay Sands Argeneau series...I have read them all over and over again. You fall in love with the characters and I can't wait for the next one to come out so I can read more about this family. "
— Jennifer, 12/28/2011" This was good but lacked some of the fun some of the other Argeneau books have. The back story was pretty entertaining but the romance was only OK. "
— Amyiw, 11/3/2011" This series is fun to read. This is my favourite book out of the whole series. I don't remember the first three books since it has been so long, but I gotta say that all of them are similar - Immortals finally finding their life mate. However, Lynsay Sands adds humour and wit that I enjoy. "
— MT931, 4/21/2011" My favorite!!! Love this book just as much as "A Quick Bite" "
— Emma, 11/14/2010" Margeurite is probably my favorite character in the series, and the adventure in this book made it as enthralling as it was hillarious! "
