Once Bitten . . .
One minute Leigh is walking home in the early hours of the morning, and the next a vampire is sinking his teeth into her neck. Turns out it was a rogue vampire marked for termination, but it does Leigh little good because the damage's already been done. She's become one of them.
Lucian Argeneau, hunter of rogue vampires, has been alive for over two thousand years, and there's very little to excite him anymore. Food has become tasteless, sex is ordinary. Then Leigh drops into his life. Suddenly he finds himself craving coffee . . . and imagining the sassy brunette atop the black satin sheets on his nice big bed. It's Lucian's job now to enlighten Leigh on the inner workings of being immortal . . . and tutoring her is igniting a fire in him that hasn't burned in centuries.
But until they stop a renegade bloodsucker from destroying the human race, passion will have to wait!

"Lucian, and original immortal, is on the ruling council and an enforcer for those who break immortal law - no killing humans, nothing to expose them, etc. When he arrives to take out a rogue named Morgan, he meets Leigh, a mortal woman in the early stages of turning because of Morgan. He doesn't realize right away she is his life mate, but he can't bring himself to abandon her. Love is in the air as Lucian tries to help Leigh adjust to her new life and keep her safe from Morgan. Of the books I've read in the series so far, this is my favorite. There are still world building and character consistency problems that keep it from being 5 stars, but its a fun, romantic story."
— Gina (4 out of 5 stars)
“All in all we have an interesting, lively, funny read with echoes to previous books in the series.
— British Fantasy Society“Attention-grabbing, heartwarming, and humorous.”
— RT Book Reviews (4 stars)" Good story , but the audiobook quality is awful , sounds like it was done in some backroom with a Mic and 1960's cassette recorder ! "
— MindWalkN, 9/9/2023" These books tend to be repetitive, but still enjoyable. The same storyline with a twist here and there and involving different main characters. "
— Cherise, 2/13/2014" Lucian is too cute. Going from grumpy old man to new lease on life. He was just so enjoyable to me. Leigh was pretty damn awesome as well. I love that there wasn't as much "outside drama" in this one. "
— Rachel, 2/9/2014" Fairly predictable storyline. If you've read of these Argeneau vampire tales, you've read them all. Characters are likable but the plot follows a pretty standard line through every book. "
— Biblophile, 2/4/2014" It took me a couple of chapters to get into this book, only because Lucien is such a jerk. Once I got into it though I loved it. "
— Tonya, 1/14/2014" too funny! its officially my favorite from lysay sands "
— Yanet, 1/7/2014" Lynsay Sands is awesome!!! this book is perfect for if you need cheering up.... or any other time as well!! Lynsay Sands makes the books interesting loveable, while not repeating story lines. AMAZING! "
— WeaklingNo14, 12/28/2013" As always, Lyndsay does not disappoint! I didn't want to put this one down. "
— Raina, 12/12/2013" It was basically 200 pages of Q&A about Lynsay Sands' version of vampires plus some random scenes that shoed some semblance of a plot, zzzzzzzzzz.... MEH. "
— Superbunny, 12/11/2013" I seriously loved this book!! I finished reading it in one day..I just couldn't find it in me to put it down. "
— Maria, 11/15/2013" Lucian and Leigh... rogue vampire hunter bar owner. Another great couple and another great story. I love these Argeneau's. "
— Michelle, 11/14/2013" This was the best. Scary Uncle Lucien felled by petite Leigh. The sex scenes were so erotic yet full of love I was swooning all over the place. "
— Lipvixen, 10/12/2013" I started out thinking that I didn't like this book (which would have been a bummer, because I love all the argeneau books!) But, I feel in love with it towards the middle, and the end was great. "
— Sarah, 7/2/2013" Once i started reading I could not put it down. "
— Angel, 7/1/2013" I really like this book. I can't wait to read the others and the best thing is you don't need to read them in order. "
— Jill, 3/7/2013" Lynsay Sands does it again with this book. I loved the mystery, excitement, humor, and romance of this book. A must read if you like the series. "
— Jenny, 6/2/2012" Liked this one very much. Good to finally, see the head of Argeneau paired. "
— Efthalia, 5/7/2012" This was good, though Im getting a little tired of "same story different character" syndrome. :( "
— Noelle, 12/25/2011" This was the first lynsay sands book that I read. I love how her books have a touch of humor in them and how they aren't the same. I give it five stars. And now I want one of those dogs. "
— Sedia, 4/23/2011" Kansas City, Kansas does not have an Airport. You can not fly in to Kansas!

Ok, after cringing through the first chapter where they mentioned flying into Kansas at least 4 times, I really enjoyed this book and the story. "
— Dawn, 3/20/2011" I liked learning about Lucian. Especially since he is the oldest vampire we've met so far in the Argeneau family. The epilogue of the story was really sweet! "
— Laura, 3/2/2011" This is my favorite, up to date. But I've only read 5 so far.
LOL story. "
— Kbee, 2/19/2011" i love lucian he comes off as just a bad ass that you can't but fall in love with him and find he has a soft side "
— Maria, 2/15/2011" Imagine a grumpy, crusty, irritating, ancient man...with the body of a 25 year old. He's not who he seems to be, especially when the feisty little Leigh pops into his life. Lynsay truly is a master. "
— Megan, 1/30/2011" This book was pretty good. I didn't like the wasy Rachel acted at the beginning. It almost made me not like her but she was better towards the end. "
