— Feby, 2/20/2014" Pretty suspenseful, but I thought it took Monica much too long to figure out that the killer might be someone in the police department. If that fact seemed pretty obvious to me, than for someone as smart as Monica, it should have snapped right to her attention as soon as she got a call on her cell phone, her private line which not many knew. I dunno, maybe its just me that thinks so. I also didn't really understand why she thought of herself as a monster, she never in fact killed anyone or helped Romeo kill. Did she think she was a monster because she understood him too well? Food for thought I suppose. "
— Julie, 2/9/2014" The sex scenes were really hot, but I would've liked to see a flashback of their time at the academy when they first met. The mystery was pretty good and the killer was creepy. Overall, an enjoyable read! "
— Amy, 2/9/2014" This book was a Good Reads win for me; thank you. My favorite genre is suspense/thriller and this book had an excellent story line to fit that genre and a lot of action. It also has a lot of romance. Since I prefer my thrillers to be "mush-free", I just skipped over those parts, which made it a quick read. Recommend especially to anyone who enjoys romantic thrillers. "
— Esther, 2/6/2014" steamy romance and a well written mystery rolled into one! i could not put it down! "
— Deb8coach, 1/25/2014" I love this series! romantic suspense at its best! :) "
— Sherry, 1/19/2014" i thoroughly enjoy serial killer murder mysteries, so add some relatively well-written protagonists and some smokin' hot sex, and you have a fun, forgettable winner. the e-equivalent of a fairly lucky airport paperback score. "
— D, 11/28/2013" It may have been me, but I felt like this was a trip to the dentist. I really struggled to get into this story. Characters seemed a bit flat and although they had plenty of back story they just seemed boring. This book is nothing that I haven't read before. Sorry, but it just wasn't for me. "
— Netty, 7/28/2012" First in a thrilling new series. I love how Monica's past tied in with the actual story. Creepy cool killer, twisty plot, and lots of bullets, and chases. And plenty of romance. "
— T., 10/9/2011" This was a thrilling and exciting good read from page one to the end. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to read the other two books in this series. "

— Chris, 4/3/2011" Fantastic book with an amazing love story set in a murderous plot. The plot, setting, characters, romance, suspense were all expertly devised! Can't wait to read the next story about Kenton. "

— Kathy, 3/3/2011" Twisty and turny romance book with a little (okay, a lot!) of death and mystery thrown in there.<br/>This was not a fast read, and I was sometimes frustrated with the slow pace, but I was pleased with the story itself, even if it was a bit dark. "
