Publisher Description

Six months after her lover died in an arsonist's blaze, firefighter Lora Spade calls in the FBI's elite Serial Service Division to track the elusive killer. When Special Agent Kenton Lake is lured into a violent inferno, Lora pulls him to safety and is stunned—not by the fire, but by her own searing attraction to Kent. For the first time in months, she longs for something other than vengeance.

Kenton's interest in Lora should be purely professional. But one fleeting kiss and he can't get her out of his mind. Her combination of strength and vulnerability makes him want to protect her, and that means solving this case—and fast. For even the passion igniting between them can't hide a terrifying truth: Lora is the next target in a murderer's sadistic, fiery game.

" The plot, pacing, and chemistry between the main characters were good. What was not good was the constant sexual escapades of the hero/heroine sometimes with staff right outside the door. The FBI agent's behavior was totally inappropriate and the lack of discipline was unbelievable. Both the hero and heroine used the F-bomb in speech and thought so much it was intrusive. In fact the heroine was so foul mouthed I could not identify with her and really never cared what happened to her. " Cynthia Eden delivers another stellar romance keeps the readers attention even long after finishing the book. Deadly Heat is powerfully charged and super sexy, which make for a hot combination. Kenton and Lora are the new "it" couple if you ask me and I wouldn't be surprised if this book were turned into a movie. "

" ShortNSweet: I figured out who did it waaayy early on, it was very obvious. That made the overall book really drag. I didn't like it as much as Deadly Fear, but it was still engaging and HOT. Moving right on to Deadly Lies for sure! "

" Strong MC's, serial killer who sets fires, the reappearance of Monica and Luke -- a good read. I guessed who the villain was pretty early on, but it's not really a mystery novel so I didn't mind (plus, I'm usually in the dark about who done it until the big reveal, so I felt smug, which is nice). " I hate to say it, but this was a DNF for me. I've read Cynthia Eden before and her writing didn't annoy me this much then. How was it annoying? All the definitive statements and superfluous descriptions. The writing just wasn't for me this time around. "
