He'll Choose Them. . .
Detective Regan Pescoli has worked the "Star Crossed Killer" case for months, never imagining she'd be captured by the madman she's been hunting. Regan knows exactly what he's capable of--and avoiding the same fate will take every drop of her courage and cunning.
Abduct Them. . .
Regan Pescoli is unlike any woman Nate Santana has met before. But now she's missing, and Nate knows something is dangerously wrong. The only person who can help him find her is Detective Selena Alvarez, Regan's partner. As Nate and Selena dig deeper into the Star-Crossed Killer case and the body count rises, the truth about Regan's disappearance becomes chillingly clear.
And Kill Them. . .
In the desolate Montana woods, evil is lurking. And with time running out, the only way to save Regan will be to get inside a killer's twisted mind and unravel a shocking message that is being revealed, one body at a time. . .

"This is a really scary sequal to "Left to Die". A serial killer is on the loose in the Montana mountains and a copy cat killer only confuses the investigation. The killer (no spoiler alert as this was all explained in the first book) shoots out the women's tires, the cars careen over a cliff, then the killer "saves" the women, befriends them, gains their trust, then leaves them in the snow, tied to a tree to die. Who is this Star-Crossed Killer (stars referring to the zodiak) and how is he choosing his victims. The next victim is one of the detectives covering the case. The difference here, she immediately knows her car accident was no accident and that she is in the hands of the killer. This is a fast paced book about her captivity, her resolve to escape, how she puts her police training to good use, and of the man behind the killings. It's also the story of a single woman trying to raise two teenagers and of her relationship with the new man in her life. We've all read about real-life serial killers (I remember the Night Stalker in Southern CA when everyone locked their windows at night). This story has the reader wondering how do you protect yourself against a sniper on roads not well traveled but ones you have to take? Makes me wonder about all the times I drove long distances by myself."

— Shannon, 1/23/2014" I've read all of Lisa Jackson's books and was excited for this serial killer to be caught or killed since Left to Die. I found that it was dragged on, some parts were confusing becuase I felt that it didn't truly come together and I just wasn't happy with it. Her next book comes out Without Mercy in March 2010, hopefully this is one is better. March 2010 is Running Scared. "
