The Nixie's Song: #1 Beyond Spiderwick Chronicles Series Audiobook

" good, really short, i read it in less than 2 hours "

" i do believe this book hasnt come out yet, but i read all of the other spiderwick books and they were all pretty neat, so i would like to read this one sooner or later. "

" I read all of the original Spiderwick Chronicles and thought they were mediocre at best, so I really wasn't expecting much out of this book, but I was still disappointed. Obviously these books are not supposed to be Tolkien-level writing, but if I wanted to introduce my children to fantasy literature, I just don't think I'd choose these. For example, there is too much focus on the fantasy aspect of the story and very little on developing strong characters with any kind of moral underpinnings. I'll give it two stars instead of one, however, because I may have lost my edge in evaluating adolescent literature when I turned twelve. "

" So I haven't read the real Spiderwick C. yet, but will probably finish the first and second books tonight. This was a bit different than I expected. I mean, I think I'd tell that Nixie to shut the hell up and that I didn't owe her anything. Still, good book and perfect for kids 7-10 "

" A quick little read and a cute story. The pages are only about half filled with words, the rest blank space and occasional illustrations. Makes me wish I had the rest of the series. "

" I read this with my eight year old and I wasn't impressed with the language it used for a young reader. Of course the eight year old loved it and wants to read the next one. I guess it worked for me to read to him and edit a little as I went along. He didn't really hear the parts I changed. "
