Mallory and Jake must rescue Simon from the goblins who snatched him in this repackage of the second book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Spiderwick Chronicles.
Thanks to the mysterious field guide left behind by their long-lost great-great-uncle Arthur Spiderwick, life for the Grace kids—Jared, Simon, and Mallory—is beyond weird. When Simon goes missing, Jared is convinced creatures from the faerie world have something to do with it. Mallory is not convinced. That is, until she and Jared have to contend with a band of menacing, marauding goblins. Simon is clearly in danger, and it’s up to Mallory and Simon to save him, before it’s too late…

"It took a while to get through this set because I read it aloud to my kids. They loved it and it lends itself to this purpose. There were a few parts that my youngest was frightened, she is 4, but it kept them interested and they would quietly listen, most of the time. Very creative and a good read for 6-10 year olds."

— Michael, 1/9/2014" The story was okay but the real gems here are the illustrations by TD. "
— geraldine, 1/9/2014" they were ok got boring though "
— Ludy, 1/4/2014" Get all 5 at once, find a comfy place to read, make a pot of tea, and dive in!!! Wonderful childrens series for all ages. "
— travelerblue, 1/1/2014" i love theese books. it usually takes forever to find a fantasy book that i like, (i have liked only about 7) but theese books were an instant hit. "
— Taima, 12/20/2013" It's really fantastic! I mean, it's a lot more interesting than the movie. "
— Chantal, 11/23/2013" Fun, fast and completely entertaining! Loved it! "
— ~Tina~, 11/11/2013" These books were good, but very short; almost more like one book split into sections. They're interesting though, and if you've seen the movie, don't jugde the books based on that, because they're a lot better, as is usually the case. "
— Laura-Michal, 11/6/2013" cute, quick reads. "
— Chevy, 11/5/2013" A good, light read. Not as complex as Harry Potter, but enjoyed them "
— Irobert13, 8/15/2013" i liked all of these books and i haven`t seen the movie, but i`m kind of afraid to... "
— cecilia., 3/22/2013" the books and the money i've paid is worth it! I LOVE, LOVE ALL OF THOSE SERIES "

— Brenda, 12/14/2011" I wish Holly Black would go back and do some more stuff like this. "
— Kellie, 5/13/2011" Maybe better reading to get the illustrations? I listened to books 1 & 2 (and 3? can't even remember now) to get the feel. Fine enough and kind of fun because they're short. Mark Hamill is a fine narrator, actually. "
— Genevieve, 5/10/2011" A quick family-fun book on tape for our road trip. "
— Scottandsasha, 5/6/2011" Goodbooks. Not to long fun easy read. "
— Amanda, 4/29/2011" Better to read all the books at once (like in one volume) than one at a time; that way they don't seem so short and rushed. Made me enjoy them much more. "
— Nicole, 4/8/2011" these were very quick. i think a child 2nd grade and up could read these. the movie follows the books fairly closely. "
— Ruth, 4/8/2011" Actually, picked up the "Completely Fantastical" edition (all five books in one hardcover, with bonus chapters and artwork). I thought I'd read it before I give it to my 9-year-old niece. The entire series was great fun (I would have loved it at her age) and well written. "
— Samantha, 3/20/2011" A light, but enoyable read. "
— Selina, 3/20/2011" Really fun romp through faerie. Warning that the first book is a bit terrifying (the illustrations of a doll's head in the wall and Mallory's hair tied to her headboard, particularly)...but it didn't stop me. The books are short, quick reads with lots of gorgeous illustrations. "
— Ali, 3/17/2011" i just loved this whole series. these books i read in like 20 min. to an hour when i was in 4th gradde. i recommend it <br/> "
