With 22 million of her books in print, and 12 consecutive New York Times best-sellers to her credit, Amanda Quick is a phenomenally popular author of historical romances. With This Ring, set in Regency England, sends a beautiful, headstrong woman on a perilous quest for the Forbidden Rings of Aphrodite. To recover her family's meager fortunes, Beatrice Poole must locate the antiquities stolen from her favorite uncle shortly before his highly suspicious death. Since the Forbidden Rings have a legendary history of magic and mystery, the resourceful Beatrice heads for one man who can help her find them: the darkly handsome Earl, the "Mad Monk" of Monkcrest. Fans around the world are drawn to the dashing heroes and passionate adventures in Amanda Quick's novels, but it is her sparkling humor and lively wit that keep them coming back for more. Veteran narrator Barbara Rosenblat provides the perfect voices, conveying delicious innuendos, villainous slurs, and lively banter with ease.

"This book stands upover countless rereads. It was the star of the Jayne Ann Krentz bookclub night. Good character developement, nice mystery with a few twists."

" It was cute. I really enjoyed the humor. "
— Di, 2/18/2014" Great read by one of my favorite authors. Have actually re-read a couple of times. "
— Alice, 2/3/2014" I liked this book. It is listed as a Romance, but I was surprised to find that it was more Mystery with Romance taking second billing. For once the hero/heroine recognized the chemistry between them and acted upon it....no taking it slow for them. Each of them knew it was more than lust and didn't debate the issue for the entire book. I can't say any more or I will have to be a "spoiler". I think you'll like the book. I am still working on why this is #1 of the Vanza Series. So far, the only reference to Vanza was a brief mention at the beginning of the book. I have read the series, but can't remember if Beatrice and Leo are mentioned in them or not. I'll have to go back and check it out...I have been known to reread books when I can't remember how they fit together. I'll post my results when I figure it out...promise! "
— Lynne, 1/18/2014" Loved it! Not only a great Regency read, but also a suspense/adventure. Lots of page-turning action and fun. "
— Sonja, 1/12/2014" Beatrice and Leo are another cute couple. What I liked about this story was all the antiquities interwoven into the plot. I enjoy these sleuthing romance stories where they are trying to "uncover" the dastardly deeds of a mysterious villain. "
— ♆, 12/24/2013" Classic romance, great choice to read during an "escape" afternoon. "
— Denise, 12/6/2013" lmyn c. . . .tp kbnykn misterinya drpd r0mancenya. . . . . "
— Widhy, 11/22/2013" Some very powerful stories. Definitely worth reading. "
— Jim, 10/21/2013" I like how the story matches the story of Mrs. Yorks "The Ruins". However, I think that the story is very predictable. "
— Nicole, 8/21/2013" I loved this book. It had everything I like in a book. It had a fun couple, it had some mystery and it had romance. I want to read it again and again. "
— Connie, 5/8/2013" Absolutely delightful mystery, set of characters and setting. Very similar to the March/Lake series, but charming nonetheless. "
— Annette, 3/10/2013" The story was good--except for the romantic plot line. Blech. "
— Jill, 2/12/2013" A gift as part of a book swap--the kind of book you just bury yourself in. I love Quick's formula for romance. <3 "
— Sheila, 10/18/2012" Enjoyed the hero and heroine and love the mystery/adventure Amanda Quick puts in her stories. "
— Lana, 8/18/2012" Careful. This is rated PG-13. It's a romance. "
