THE DEAD WOMAN WORE RED... Gossip columnist Ethel Lambston knew everything about everybody who was somebody---so there were more than enough suspects in her murder. But for Neeve Kearny, owner of an expensive Madison Avenue boutique, the killing of one of her best customers had eerie echoes of another death that occurred many years earlier---the murder of her own mother. Suddenly, Neeve is plunged into the mystery of Ethel Lambston's murder, following a trail that leads from the glittering pleasure palaces of New York's rich and beautiful to the Mafia underworld. In the tradition of Mary Higgins Clark's staggering bestsellers, Neeve Kearny is a woman determined to find the truth, caught in a swirl of money and romance---and stalked by a killer who's closer than she could ever dream...

"It was ok. It's older, from the late 80's so hard to relate to a time when there were no cell phones etc, threw up a lot of roadblocks to solving the crime. Just had to keep reminding myself that it was an older book. Good story tho', I'd recommend it to someone who can relate to that time perio."

— Inés, 2/16/2014" My favorite MHC book. I wish she had created a series with these characters. "
— Jeanie, 2/11/2014" Don't think I've read any of her other books. Pretty good mystery writer, a bit repetitive at times, but all in all she spins a good yarn with interesting tidbits and characters. "
— Eva, 2/11/2014" This was a really good one. Probably one of her betters. Neeve is a very interesting, complicated character. "
— Cassandra, 2/9/2014" was so nice.....actuali dis woman is gud "
— Mayvz, 1/28/2014" As someone else said, although I do like MHC's writings, the pattern of the books and the plot is very similar. This one had too much extraneous detail for me and just wasn't as good as others I have read. But I'm starting another MHC audiobook so we will see what it is like. That will be all for me for a while. "
