Now in mass market, New York Times bestselling author Carol Higgins Clark delivers the fourteenth installment in her crowd-pleasing Regan Reilly mystery series, this one set on the Jersey Shore, in a fun story the Today show called “dizzying.”
Private investigator Regan Reilly and her husband, Jack, head of the NYPD Major Case Squad, plan to spend the weekend at the Jersey shore with her parents. But the weekend gets off to an early start when Regan receives a phone call from her mother Nora asking if she’d hop on a train right away.
Hayley Patton is a successful New York City event planner who suspected that her beau, Scott, was cheating and hired her former high school classmate Regan to follow him. Meanwhile, Nora had also just spoken to an agitated high school classmate. Karen Frawley Fulton, who lives in San Diego, called Nora after learning that her mother just sold their home at the Jersey shore and is having a garage sale to end all garage sales. Karen asks Nora to please go to the house and, she hopes, curtail any other outrageous antics her mother probably has in mind. Nora agrees and asks Regan to join her.
At the Frawley home Regan is astonished to see Scott’s brand-new fiancée, who quickly makes herself scarce. Once inside the house, Regan becomes increasingly suspicious about why the house was vacated unexpectedly. Turns out, there is a good reason…

"I love Carol's books (and her mom's) because they take place in New Jersey. I really like recognizing the towns and places in them. This book was a bit anti-climactic, but good. "
— Jennifer (4 out of 5 stars)
" Don't judge me too harshly for my love of lowbrow fiction! Carol Higgins Clark's books are as simple as her one word titles, but for quick poolside read they are just right. "
— Amy, 6/20/2011" A good summer read as it takes place at the beach. Regan and her mother head to the jersey shore to help her friend at her garage sale. It turns into a case of a missing actress that had rented the house. "
— Kristin, 6/13/2011" Regan goes down to the Jersey shore for her mother's birtday. They attend Edna's garage sale. Look for missing actress Cleo Paradise and there is generally just a lot going on. "
— April, 6/8/2011" Read this on my Kindle. Quick and entertaining. "
— Bschulman87, 6/5/2011" Not a great mystery but a fast read.... "
— Leslie, 6/5/2011" A typical Nora Reilly and Regan Reilly her daughter who is a private investigator get involved in situations that end up including Regan's husband Jack who is a NYPD det quick read light entertainment. <br/> "
— Gail, 5/30/2011" It was fun -- a simple mystery without being gruesome or gory. Regan Reilly is always good for a few laughs and is able to solve the case. "
— Barb, 5/29/2011" This was just OK. There were too many ultra quirky characters in this story. I like the Christmas books she writes with her mother much better. "
— Carol, 5/22/2011" This was a quick, fun read which all the Regan Reilley books are. Carol Higgins Clark does a great job creating a variety of interesting, and often twisted, characters and surprises you with who's done it. "
— Anita, 5/18/2011" Although I don't like her writing as much as her mother's, and although everyone is a little-too-conveniently tied together, and although it's just mindless reading, I do enjoy her books. "
— Peggy, 5/18/2011" Another fun read from Carol Higgins Clark. A light mystery, there are always lot of entertaining characters and enough twists and turns that while you may have met the bad guy(s), the end result isn't quite what you expected. Quick and fun, I always look forward to these releases. "
— Jennie, 5/17/2011" Another quick read in this enjoyable series...I may be partial due to the "Jersey Shore"setting. "
— Susan, 5/15/2011" Like all her Regan Rielly mysteries, this one was short, funny, and not too scary. A good choice for me when I don't have a lot of time to read. I can put it down for a day or so, and not loose track of the story or important details. "
