Henry Parker Britland IV is wealthy and worldly -- a beloved former president who, still youthful, is enjoying early retirement. His new wife, Sunday, is beautiful, smart and seventeen years younger than he, and has just been elected to Congress in a stunning upset victory that has made her the darling of the media.
Henry and Sunday make a formidable team of sleuths -- and never more so than when they set out to solve crimes occurring among their friends in political high society. With cases ranging from a crime on the presidential yacht to a mysterious murder implicating the former secretary of state, there is never a dull moment!
With her wit and gift for characterization, the creator of the popular Alvirah and Willy stories brings us another marvelously endearing sleuthing duo, destined to return again and again.

"This is a book filled with short stories about a former president and his wife a congresswoman named Sunday. The stories are really short so it's a fast read. I was reading it in between books. I wish she would have made some of the stories a little bit longer because the end to quickly. All and all a very good read!"

“Mary Higgins Clark is truly a mistress of high tension.”
— New Yorker“Mary Higgins Clark does a fine job with this duo. The collection of…stories ends too soon.”
— USA Today“These adventures are in keeping with Ms. Clark’s more humorous fiction, such as her tales of the inimitable Willy and Alvirah…Henry and Sunday…offer comic relief.”
— Richmond Times-Dispatch“An appealing husband-and-wife sleuthing team…Clark uses every occasion to celebrate her gorgeous newlyweds’ delirious happiness and misses no opportunity to cater to those readers who favor a little romance with their mild suspense.”
— Publishers Weekly“Imagine Nick and Nora Charles with a taste for politics and none for gin, and you’d be pretty close to Mary Higgins Clark’s Henry Parker Britland IV and his attractive young wife, Sandra O’Brien Britland, known as Sunday…It’s a bonbon, to be enjoyed for its brief sweetness.”
— Amazon.com, editorial review“Tantalizing…Fans of Nick and Nora Thin Man movies…will fall in love with Mary Higgins Clark’s newest detective team. Readers will hope there will be many more tales about them. A great treat.”
— BookPage“The real interest here, as in Clark’s Alvirah and Willy stories, is in the romance of wealth, coupled this time with the potent fairy-tale mix of power, glamour, gentility, and a certain endearing obtuseness. Clark’s army of fans won’t find any unseemly surprises here—and will know better than to expect much in the way of mystery or suspense in this gentle, upscale epithalamion.”
— Kirkus Reviews" I like Mary Higgins Clark books but this one, although enjoyable was not all that good. A quick read though. "
— Carolyn, 2/17/2014" I must confess to not having been able to get past the first chapter but I adore the absurd premise of an ex-president & first lady solving crimes "
— Orlaith, 2/8/2014" Boring! It read like she had a book deadline threw this together to meet it. I knew "who done it" within a few pages because she gave it away so quickly. She's done much better work, this fell short of her standards. "
— Tarah, 1/31/2014" I liked these but did not love these... easy fluffy read. "
— Sabrina, 1/24/2014" This book was ok and it was nice collection of mysteries/ stories. "
— Cullen, 1/24/2014" Cute short mystery stories with a fun husband/wife sleuthing couple. "
— Lisa, 1/17/2014" I listened to this one on tape. Well narrated and very entertaining. "
— Leanna, 1/17/2014" Eh, it was okay. I honestly had no desire to keep reading any of the four stories, but I did want to get the book over with. The stories weren't that bad, but I just didn't feel drawn into them or care what happened--especially since it was obvious they would all have a happy ending. "
— Whitney, 1/14/2014" Really good book I read it in a day. It has 4 short stories in it and they all involve the ex president and A woman named Sunday. Really good book it you love short stories. "
— Gabrielle, 1/12/2014" These were a fast, easy read. They are a charming couple, but not as endearing as Alvirah and Willy. A former President and a Congress woman might be hard for some people to identify with. "
— Carol, 1/9/2014" I will always enjoy Mary Higgins Clark books. I usually have it figured out but it is a fun read. "
— Kristie, 1/7/2014" This collection of shorts about an American ex-President and his darling Congressman wife will suffice if this is the only book left in the hostel book swap and there is time to kill at a coffee shop. Even then, the minutes might be better spent people watching. "
— Deborah, 1/7/2014" Cute short mysteries. Brainless stuff for when you need a distraction. "
— Keeley, 1/3/2014" Fun and different from her usual mysteries. "
— Sharol, 12/27/2013" Light and fun. It was a good de-stressing read. "
— Cali, 12/10/2013" There are four stories here with the same key charakters. The second story was good but the last two not really good. It just simple story with simple problem. No need really deep analysis. "
— Sierin, 12/9/2013" I read this when I was younger and I loved it. "
— V.E., 12/8/2013" Mary Higgins Clark changed my life. I remember my mom reading me one of her books years ago and I think I have read just about every other one she has written. I think she is a great story teller and her books can keep me on the edge of my seat late into the night! "
— Alex, 11/23/2013" This was an "ok" book for the lovely MHC. It's not my favorite, by far, but was a decent read nonetheless. "
— Jacqueline, 11/22/2013" I enjoyed this book. I wanted to read something else by this author. This book has 4 mini stories in it about the same couple. Not completely riveting, but enjoyable. "
— Millie, 11/7/2013" Not the best Higgins Clark I have read. A series of four short stories rather amateurishly done. Frankly the only reason I bought the book was because Mrs. Clark was signing books that day. Not so hot. "
— Jim, 9/26/2013" Definitely not one of her best. "
— Candice, 8/14/2013" This was an enjoyable little book with different characters for her . "
— J.j., 8/11/2013" I think I'd give this 3.5 stars. It's still a Mary Higgins Clark book, but it has four short stories about the same characters. I liked the characters although they were very fairytale-ish in the reality of them existing. "
— LeMira, 7/30/2013" This was a fun collection of short stories about an ex-president and his congresswoman wife. They were sweet and the characters were written very well. I wished that they were longer but were pretty action packed for short stories. Quick read also! "
— Jennie, 7/10/2013" I loved this pair . Wonder why they were never repeated ? "
— Vaijayanthi, 7/7/2013" They are short stories. But definitely very Mary Higgins Clark. It is almost relieving to know President & senator couple can be so smart and loving. "
— New, 4/28/2013" This book has 4 stories. The first one was pretty good. Blut the other 3 are mediocre at best. "
— Sheree, 4/27/2013" Three stories in this paperback. Fun and no language or sex. "
— Nadine, 3/16/2013" A nice gentle read. Sal is a congresswoman who has married the recently finished two term president. They are wealthy, popular and loving. The book is really four different adventures or mysteries. It makes me wish Clark had written a series with just these characters. "
— Kaye, 1/26/2013" I love Mary Higgins Clark and this book was actually pretty good. I am usually not a fan of short stories but I enjoyed all of theses except for the last one. I thought there wasn't enough suspense as in the others, and it "wrapped up" too quickly and simply for me. Otherwise, a nice read. "
— Karen, 1/16/2013" This was a fun, easy read though a little predictable. I enjoy Mary Higgins Clark, but I thought that these short stories had characters that were too perfect and cheesy. I would recommend her other novels over this. "
— Katy, 1/5/2013" I never connected with the overly perfect and obnoxiously happy couple who somehow like Scooby Doo and friends against all odds always find themselves in the midst of another mystery/murder/kidnapping/ransom request. Utterly forgetable. "
